The game was probably from the early 90's. I remember it being a medieval style cRPG. But oddly, the character creation screen looked like something more techy. It was like a blue wireframe background, a echoing female voice saying "select the (insert blank here) of the 1st/2nd/etc character" through each phase of character creation. And the spinning 3d models of male/female characters were solid green. And I think the game starts in some village at night where, if you don't act fast, fire starts raging throughout the village.
