Entertainment needs a new world.

Who else wants a new media shattering world like Lord of the Rings or Star Wars? Has anyone else noticed that the fantasy worlds made up recently are just not original enough...even Tamriel derived many of it's races from Tolkien. Do you think we're gonna see one in our lifetimes?

I'd buy any game on Lord of the Rings. But not the cheap rip-offs like Lord of the Rings Online.

I am hoping so. I would love to see some new world be made soon. I don't know though if we are ever going to see a new one in our life time that buries lord of the rings, or starwars, but I will congratulate the person that does. it will be hard to accomplish

There could be sections ... just like in The Elder Scrolls.

I just wanna say I saw your post in the other Star Wars RPG thread and that's where I came up with the idea for the thread...had to give credit.

And an awesome accomplishment it would be indeed.

God, I hope so.

Some day maybe I will be able to line up at the theaters to see the fifth part to a great new move series.

Everything so far has been a copy of somthing...

Well... most of us here on the forums live in America I believe. Anime stuff are not for video games in America; especially not open-world RPGs.

Depends on the anime. I'd kill for an open-world Berserk RPG.

What you just said made no sense to me.

Edit: Now I understand OP didn't say Open-World RPGs, he just said entertainment, which is an incredibly broad spectrum believe it or not.

I think actually it's a close tie between Americans and Brits on here. But that does hold true regardless.

Let's not make this a anime debate thread, though.

Dude... plenty of Americans watch anime... I don't watch a lot, but some of the stuff I have watched is freaking genius. I bet plenty of Americans wouldn't mind basing new worlds off of Anime shows. And anime shows have plenty of cool worlds...

Key word in your statement here: WATCH. You said WATCH. Anime stuff is for watching (for people who like to watch that kind of stuff). But, yeah, lets stray away from the anime topic and get back onto the main subject here.
