» Thu Oct 06, 2011 4:11 pm I just wanted to give you guys some praise. I'm loving the game and idtech5 is awesome so far! Some truly memorable moments have happened for me as I've played campaign and with friends! Again, great job!
Aside from the praise, this is what I have to say in regards to the issues I've been reading.
Most issues I've had, have been resolved easily (turned on transcoding.) I've not had crashes or instability. Since I turned on transcoding, I've had almost no pop ins (save for the initial load sometimes.) I also haven't had tearing, artifacts, or low fps. My experience thus far as been top notch!
AMD PII 955 (stock) and MSI HAWK 560 ti (stock) with 4gb of decent corsair ddr3 (stock) and a 32mb cahce 7200rpm 1tb seagate HDD. Not exactly the top of the line, but its a solid setup for around $700 (every game on max thus far! May pop another 560 ti in, (I got to experience it when Newegg cross shipped me the correct 560ti.))
The only thing that struck me with this game was my serial key was missing a number at the end... that was frustrating and I ended up just brute forcing the last number until it worked. I may call about that. Also not very fond of steam for a number of issues... that is getting picky though. I just want the game not the hassel that steam can be at times.
Also, I think I am going to try the texture tweaks. I've not experienced any major issues save for some objects that are just really out of the way that look rather... out of place due to the texture difference.
It isn't perfect (some minor technical issues and the serial key) but I love the gameplay, sounds, voices, and visuals! I've just been having a complete blast! Thank you id and Besthesda!!! I'm looking forward to your future support of Rage and any other games you may come out with! Now... back to playing Rage.
