On the fence with Rage? Don't be!

Post » Fri Oct 07, 2011 11:34 am

I see a few topics on Rage that have some negative feedback. I understand the ones where people are upset because of legit reasons but how in the world can people say the graphics, gameplay, and story are not good. If you are coming here and are on the fence about a purchase please just buy it and enjoy. You'd have to be pretty picky to find things wrong with the game. Yes people have opinions but saying things like the graphics svck are absolutely insane.

What a fine piece of work. The developers did an amazing job. You will be blown away when the ark first opens up. If your not then maybe you should wait 10 more years until video game graphics get better because right now this is the best your gonna get. If you actually take the time to take it in and see the detail you'll see how beautiful this game is. Graphics 11 out of 10. Texture pop ins are very minor and when your busy playing this amazing game it's the last thing your looking at.

Weapons and gameplay, wow! Want to play with the coolest weapon ever? Then play Rage and get yourself some wingsticks. If you do not know what this is already I am not gonna spoil it, I'll let you see for yourself. Guns feel perfect. They are not perfect but they are not supposed to be. They feel the way they were intended. As far as vehicles, I think they are perfect. Driving is fun and easy. 10 out of 10.

I was not sure about rage after i started seeing some negative feedback. To be honest it scared me. After installing it I decided( no disrespect) people were nuts these days. If you are not over the top picky then you'll love it. I do understand peoples frustrations if the game won't load properly or your dlc is missing. It is just my opinion but I love every little thing about this game. No complaints so far and I don't think I'll have any. Also I know people do not like spending 60 on a short game, Rage is not short. If you like exploring it's there. I have only done one mission and I'm at 4 hours, no side missions, nothing. Just enjoying the game. I love that they put a little rpg into this game. Great job guys!

One thing could be better. I wish I can play all day and night so I'm rating my schedule a 5 out of 10.

Bottom line but the game or rent it, but with renting you can't play the game to it's full potential. The sewers are areas you can only access if you buy the game new, they are fun. I know I can't wait to relax later and have a few hours with Rage. I want to add I really am not trying to push my opinion on anyone, I really think the developer team deserves a fair go at it. This game has been years in the making and it shows. For me it's a keeper and by far one of my favorites of this year. It could easily be in my top ten but I'd have to finish the game first to let you know. Once again hats of to ID Software, it's always a pain wait so long for a new game from you but it's always a sure bet and always worth every wait.

I've got to say, as a big id Software fan and someone that has the utmost trust in id, some of the reviews and negative feedback challenged my faith, even to the point where I was considering not buying. Still, tomorrow I will go out and try to find a copy. It means a lot to hear positive views from members I recognise on these forums. The whole Steam Rage forums make me sick at the moment so I'm avoiding that place!

[censored]. There are a ton of people, including myself, who have problems. The game won't run without massive framerate drops for me.

This.

There has been no patch or communication from id in regards to the innumerable problems with this game. The community has managed to fix a lot of it, but we shouldn't support this kind of BS. It's a good game and runs very smoothly on the 360. If you are thinking about buying it on any other platform, don't. The Dead Island devs were a lot quicker about resolving issues, and they were some no-name releasing their first game. This is id, for christ sake. I expected better.

Bang for your Buck = 10 *

You Understand, that Doom 3 still pushes the hardware requirements of leading edge graphic card drivers. And lets remember not to go off half-cocked, because there are many many different motherboard CPU + RAM + Northbridge/ Southbridge to PCIE, configurations on PC. (not to mention the GPU's and their drivers).

When I first installed the game, I played for 3 hours and was left a little bit confused. It was a 45 minute install, and the new game is overwhelming. Upon my second time with the game, I was immediately blown away by the scale of the 3D world I was in. Definitely larger than life, the fake phony world of gameplay that I will immerse myself in for many hours in the days ahead. Ballin'!

Yeah well, it's not Oblivion. You can't roam endlessly around the world. But there's a huge world you can roam around in, driving an offroad, bandit busting, range roaming machine. And everything else is leading edge too. This is one of those that the gamers are gonna praise as game of the year, while reviewers make money criticising it.

The CRITICS are criticizing and the PLAYERS are praising? What the hell are you smoking and why aren't you sharing?

Discontent PC owners have swamped the user rating for all three versions. Console players are much happier as the game isn't bugged out on consoles.

The game will be patched in a week and play fine then it will be forgotten. Buggy launch days are unfortunately common place these days.

I love the game in it's own right.

Is there room for expansion, betterment, more multi-player modes? Yes.

Let's just hope that id makes some DLC to address the different modes.
