Have you ever went to a bar/club without anyfriends, family or co-workers? Just you alone to either a new place or a place you already know. Ive actualylthought about doing it a few times, but maybe people will think that I will looke like a loser in other peoples eyes or maybe they dont notice it?

I dont know if it will look lame, but just going to a bar or club by yourself to a place where you dont know anybody sounds exciting.

Have you done it before?

I have, but I always see someone I know. Going to the bar alone is fine, especially if you just wanna get out of the house and have a drink or two. Even the club is fine if a particularly good band/DJ is playing.

I have a small little steak house in my little town. A steak house is the mans domain. I've gone there alone a few times. Got a beer and a steak and watched some sports. I don’t see how it's lame.

Sounds like it your first time heading out. I’ve never been to a club just my little town steak house. So my information may be bad since your most likely in some city...

Many times to a bar (Pub), but only once to a club (I tend to avoid clubs even when in company anyway -- I find them tedious).

Only to use the restroom, really. Darn rail construction work always cancelling train trips...

I suppose that's 2011 internet spelling for "a loser".

Yeah, I've got to bars and clubs alone. Usually when traveling. Its no big deal and sometimes I have fun.

No, though I still remember that fateful time I went to a club in Birmingham. :whistling:

Anyway, you could always go with your alternate personality, then fight in the parking lot.

I love that book. And film as well of course.

I've been to a bar before on my own, but by accident really. I was supposed to be meeting someone there and by a series of unfortunate (or fortunate?) events, I arrived an hour early, so I was on my own for a while. It was a fairly upscale establishment so I didn't get harassed. In fact, I felt quite out of place.

I wouldn't go to a club on my own. Not where I live anyway

If a pub looks like they may do a decent pint of Guinness, it would be almost rude not to try at least one.

I only went to a train station bar alone, purely just to wait for the next train and kill time.

Back in my clubbing days, I used to be on old music usenet groups (yes, this was a long time ago) based around that type of music, so before going out I'd check who was going and we'd swap details like "I'll be the one in the Skinny Puppy t-shirt" and arrange to meet in a pub beforehand - so it was effectively a "forum meet" in the days before forums. Then we'd just all go in together.

Once I'd been there once, there'd generally be someone I'd recognise so I was OK about just turning up on my own after that.

I don't think anyone would think you were a loser if you turned up alone. It just gives you more motivation to chat to the people there and make some friends as quickly as possible.
