What is iD doing at the moment (if anything)?

Post » Wed Oct 12, 2011 10:52 am

Dear iD Team,

There appears to be plenty of issues out here revolving around Rage. While there are plenty of people who appear more than happy (and often less than qualified) to comment on what they think is wrong it is blatantly obvious that your voice is missing... why? Are you doing anything to address these issues? Or have you taken the money and run? If you are doing something... what is it and when can we expect it?

Some kind of communication would be great...

Thanks.

Them demanding drivers that work from ATI and NVIDIA isn't enough? The game isn't broken... it's the graphic drivers that are the issue.

You cant blame the GPU drivers alone. There were blatantly obvious issues with the game as well, which have mostly been addressed - likewise with the drivers.

The new drivers that came were created by Id collaborating with the gpu manufactures. The patch Id put out included some additions to the graphics settings in the menu that were specifically chosen to make it easier to deal with some of the more common problems people have been having. Now I assume they pouring over the millions of error messages that steam has been collecting and figuring out how best to resolve all the issues. For a lot of games this takes about a month before a comprehensive first patch is released. Thankfully with steam they can continue the process indefinitely and our programs can be patched automatically even years down the road for things like performance improvements.

Covering each other in peanut butter and rolling around in cash....
Actually no, they're probably chasing up AMD and Nvidia about the driver issues to get a solid fix to the problem.

do you think that they do nothing after releasing the game? you're wrong. ID software has different kind of business along with game maker. Rage is not only their money making resource. that's why people have no idea when ask business. if you work for big firm, you know how stress you get everyday. I had many experience to work for big companies in the past. you have no idea.

This forum is monitored by Matt Grandstaff (Gstaff) and Nick Breckon. Where did you get the idea that people at ID who worked on RAGE would be responding to you?

Working on the issues that they either didn't see coming or couldn't address for one reason or another before releasing Rage. Seriously, you fantards don't have the faintest idea. A developer's job doesn't end when they release the game.

Did you miss the patch/notes that they released like 2 days after launch? They fixed a bunch of problems, provided some more graphics options, slapped AMD around a little, and continue to work on resolving things ... they don't make games b/c they HATE them, they make them b/c they're gamers... that being said, I don't think it's like they are "thank GOD it's over, lets gtfo and move to Fiji", I think they can respect our complaints, and though they may have been shortsighted on this I think they are "trying".

On a side note, anyone beat the game watch the FULL credits?... Holy GOD they had like 50+ "QA" team members... what happened there exactly?
