starting from the beginning...i get home, pop in the disk, oh...theres a network update, yay...ooh look, the game has an update...yay......OOOHWTF...now it has to load some huge packet to the system from the disk...doubleyayfacepalm...need less to say..i didnt play that night after 2 hours of updating crap...fast forward 12 hours.....
so i start off in hard, like i usually do in FPS games...whoa...lets take that down a notch...i RESTARTED in normal...ok better...its a rental...i dont have weeks to play this [censored] lol.
the gameplay, once you get into your groove is quite fun and exciting. its nothing by far even comparable to other Bethesda games since its NOT AN RPG...sorry for all the kids who didnt know the difference of an rpg and non-rpg....this game is purely FPS-goodness. This game definatly requires tactics on top of fast reaction time with a sharp degree of adaptability. The driving is a big plus, its fun and keeps things from getting too dull between missions since you have the chance to have a steady income from it. Im not sure how far ive actually got in the game progress...but this is not one of those games you can fully beat in one week...... awesome to you if you do...showoff.
I understand light filters, and time delays, and the all the politics that go into making a huge game like this..but why is it when i try to hide out in the shadows does everything have to be green?!? i feel like im playing FO3.5....well atleast the guns are cool...very well balanced, very detailed. but thats as far as the high detailing of the textures stop...yea, it has good graphics, but its lost in the subpar texturing of lets say...the floors, ALL the floors...floors are important you know..i like to see my prey on a bloody floor, not a concrete slab of fuzzy greyness...and btw, i am playing this on a 48' lcd tv, so wats the excuse? how can u be holding a highly detailed gun standing in an environment that doesnt look finished...it feels like the graphics are too much that the ps3 cant even render everything, is it a crappy rental copy that they pumped out to soften the blow of their bottom line? This is a shortlist of my issues...
-textures dont feel finished in the game as a whole, lots of varying degrees of detail work
-too many generic sounds, especially in the vehicles, the caprino is a one note kinda car.
-the lighting makes everything seem fuzzy and blurry....HDTV and 20/20 vision...no excuses here
-mip-mapping issues (from my knowledge) all the white noise in the distance in the graphics, not a good thing, it hurts my eyes after a while
-controls feel jittery, its not hard to line up the aim, but it just doesnt feel crisp
overall this game just doesnt feel finished, like they rushed it, which 80% of all games are, but i think in this case, it just came down to time management and too much focus on the "cool" things, not the normal and basic stuff
if all of my issues are my own, or it being a rental then awesome, i dont want to stop anyone from buying or atleast trying this game, it is fun, but dont hype and make something its not actually meant to be..i wish i could take a proper screenshot of my tv and show you all what im seeing. i just dont want people thinking this game is like crysis "3" and find out its more like.....idk, you a pick a game with "good" graphics and insert it (here)...i give this game a 6/10, its just not polished and finished enough to be higher, it feels like a beta version
thankyou for reading and please feel free to give me a "piece of your mind"
