I have tried to Google this for the past hour and have not had very much luck outside one short page on W3Schools. I am looking for some more reliable, and reputable sources for these stats for a speech. I think even talking about Linux usage as well would be good, but the focus is open source software in general. Does anyone have any idea where I might be able to look to find these stats?

Everyone uses open source software, there's some BSD-licensed stuff in Windows IIRC.

Are there any more specific stats? I have the W3Schools (Counters) stats already included. I want to show how more companies and people are using it as compared to commercial applications.

w3Schools and w3counters are two completely different things. w3schools only tracks internally whereas w3counters tracks globally.

And I have no idea what you mean by "more specific stats", most of the linked ones are very specific.
