can i ask your advice?

i have reserved a copy of skyrim (standard 360 version) with an independent game shop (£5.00 deposit paid).the thing is that i am really thinking about going for the collectors edition instead (that only game/gamestation will sell).my quandary is,that i like the independent game shop (i will try and shop there for my games).i know how the smaller shop is having more of a hard time (especially during this recession).anyhoo sorry for droning on. basically am asking what you would do.would you just forget about the collectors edition and buy from the shop as planned.or would you cancel the order and go for the ce from gamestation? (the nearest shop to me) there is a third option also that i am thinking of.i was planning on buying the new batman game from the independent shop,so i was thinking of transferring my deposit to that instead. would appreciate your thoughts on the matter (and sorry for the long winded post :blush2: thanks

I'd go to the store and ask if you can upgrade to the CE. If they say they can't do that I'd ask about moving your deposit over to Arkham City, and then pre-ordering the CE elsewhere.

It's great that you want to support your local independent shop, but if they don't sell what you want, then that's not your fault. If you've got the cash and want the new Batman game then just get that from there instead.

This sounds like your pefect option. Get Arkham City from the store and you still supporting them, and get the CE elsewhere since you want that as well.

Now why would you want the CE? I would say buy both games from the store since both of them will cost the same as the CE. :P I would rather get Skyrim and the strategy guide wich I will have more use than what is in the CE.

And this.

Wanting to support independent shops is very commendable, but that doesn't mean you should buy something you don't (or no longer) want. By the way, why can't your independent shop just order the CE for you? I don't see any reason why they couldn't.

Really? That's no good. I thought formation of monopolies was forbidden?

That isn't a monopoly.
