Was Rage To much of a Gamble By Bethesda

Post » Sun Oct 16, 2011 3:41 pm

Hey guys just wanted a general topic about people though about all the problems with rage.
So far i havnt been able to play the game due to a Activation code error so i dont know if it will install.
But from what ive heard people dont seem to stop complaining about it, all i know so far is that the id tech 5 engine is like a 1 terabyte engine uncompressed so i imagine this is why its so buggy as it isnt ready to be put in games.
Bethesda have had installation problems before with fallout 3 when they tried to use security services

So do you guys think Bethesda or Zenimax Media, buying Rage and id was a mistake

I havnt played the game yet so i am not speaking from experinece
Love to hear your thoughts
Thanks
Matt

don't play the game until drivers are fixed

the game won't stay broken - other's are impatient little kids with attitude , i can't see why people can't wait like a week or so, and by the way, these forums should forward to AMD Game forum , they're the ones trying to make this game work - id can only fix auto-config and texture work , driver issues are blamed for performance too, this is not real performance at all - this is a cluster[censored] and stuff like this happens on PC, so what like it didn't happen with any other game.

about the administration stuff you can't speak now , it's now how things work , it'll be evident some time down the road , this game might pick up later when PC guys have good reasons to buy.

Plus it's a new IP and you can't expect some groundbreaking sales either , it sold a million in 2 days so ...

I feel Rage is a good idea and IP, I hope ID will make DOOM, Quake and Rage those three IP by turns,
Rage is a really good IP, you can check all the reviews.
The wolfenstein?? I don't have much like in this game, and WW2 games are not easy to sale in the market, so I wish ID will focus on DOOM, Quake, Rage those three IP

Thanks!!!

The PC version was excellent. No errors, no crashes, great graphics etc... but just as you settle into the game it ends...

There are only two areas for correction as far as I can see:

1. Free DLC to make up for the miserably short (but expensive) game; and

2. removal of the remark that "Books: no one reads them but they're great for starting fires"... judging by the appalling quality of English language on this site such a comment is not only dangerously inflammatory, it is downright irresponsible.

I'm guessing you've never read Fahrenheit 451?
