... getting PlayStation Plus.

Here are some good things about it...

- You can save your GAME data ONLINE. That way, if your PS3 dies (which happened to me TWICE now) and you cannot retrieve the data, then you'll have it saved there.
- You can set up to have all your Game Data saved to the online storage AUTOMATICALLY! You set a time in which it will save it for you and it'll do it.

I set MY PS3 to save between 12:00am - 2am, and at midnight it comes on (silently, no beep) and starts downloading ALL my saved data to the online storage!
Once you turn your PS3 back on to play it, a notification window will pop up saying what it saved.

- It will ALSO AUTOMATICALLY download the latest Software Updates! NO more waiting to download those when you wanna play a game right away! (though they have to install when you turn it on, which only takes like 60 seconds)

- You can get free games via the PlayStation Store, and usually you get discounts on a bunch of stuff!

The only DOWN side is, of course, the price. I don't remember how much, but for ALL that, I'd say it's worth it!

MY PS3 died and I thankfully had my MW2 Game Data (Campaign and Special Ops) saved online.

Anyway, I got a free month of it after Sony was hacked and I didn't even use it, I hardly ever use PSN.

Well for someone who's had TWO PS3's fail on him, it's a really useful tool.

Even with all that, I prefer to not pay for the service. I already pay other bills and buy the games I play, so I just think its not worth it. Just my opinion though, I'm sure it would be great if I wasn't paying for everything else.

Steam does all of that for free and a lot of people seem to hate it. Sorry, I had to.

How can it save online if the PS3 only does offline?

BTW, can you copy save data from the PS3 to an external hardrive?
