Amazon refunded me

Post » Fri Nov 18, 2011 1:17 pm

Yes,
after complaining about the terrible quality of this product, the glitches and all the patches, that dont help anyway, amazon fully refunded me the full prize including packaging.
I can only suggest to everybody to do the same experiencing the same problems using the product and not being able to use it. Whoever is not willing to be betatester shall get his money back.

My system is a AMD Phenom II, an ATI HD4870 and 4 GB RAM. Yes I know, not the newest system, but when I can play Black Ops with highest quality, it should be possible to start the game RAGE.

And did you go looking for a refund for your graphics card too? After all, that was something that was supposed to work but didn't.

Look, AMD themselves have admitted that most of these problems are on their side. At this stage you're ignoring reality and just hating on the game. "All the patches that don't work" - sorry, that's just not true. There was only one patch so far, and the reason why it didn't work was nothing to do with the game, it was AMD's driver. I'll say this again - AMD themselves admit this.

Suggesting to everybody to look for a refund is positively childish on your part. Your own svcky driver experience does not equate to a universal truth. Those of us who have NVIDIA hardware have been playing the game and most of us have been actually enjoying it. Many of us enjoying it a lot. Enjoying a game! What an odd concept!

When AMD release the 11.11 driver (assuming that they manage to package the correct driver this time) AMD users will suddenly find a game that works. The excuses that you've all been using until then will suddenly have become invalid, you'll be faced with a game that works and you'll have no ability to blame anyone else but AMD for the mess you were in.

as a paying customer, do I really care whos fault it is? I simply don′t accept being treated like that. I give them money and I expect delivery. I am not willing to spend more time on getting it to run instead of actual playtime. I don′t care what you think, but this treatment has to stop. How many card developers exist on the market? 2, right? Isn′t it possible to work together with them BEFORE throwing the game on the market...
But whatever, you guys can let urself be treated like that if you want....I don′t. And the publishers use the fact that nerdish behavior is in the end at their side, as flaming in the forum will simply make people shut up. Not with me.
The card drivers must be available and tested BEFORE the game is published, not weeks later. Sorry.

I don't know how to say this without sounding like a [censored], but that's really freaking idiotic.

If you don't take crap, then you should be directing your attention at AMD, as has been pointed out on numerous occasions. This arguement is stupid, it never gets anywhere, hence why it's pretty bloody obvious I've had a gutful.

If you don't like it, give it back and keep it to yourself. I sure as hell don't care, and apparently others don't either.

I don't mean to taget you specifically with the idiot part, it goes for all those who still don't get the picture. I don't know you personally, so yeah, please understand that I'm not calling you an idiot.

no problem. just spend your time with patches, upgrades and manual workarounds, if you want to. but when ordering a product and paying full price, i expect it to work.this dicussion leads nowhere, unfortunately.
i am for sure not a computer expert, i am simply a user who puts in the disc, depends on the automated patches and thats it. i should have bought a console version...
forgive me for pointing out that i am not an expert and dont have time to do everything on my own. end of discussion, i am leaving this forum again...

I completely understand that people would want a refund for betatesting , since it's a game with incredible potential, it's kind of sad that the release seems to be a beta test.

But there's a catch you have to understand too , it wasn't their fault, it's the drivers, blame the GPU industry not allowing game developers to write their own driver extensions and optimizations in low-level (closer to the hardware).

Once the driver issues are out - this game will be incredibly stable and bug free gameplay wise and also overall application stability, Alt-Tab works perfectly super-fast response.

Hmmm... I understand that if you are not a fantastic computer person, then the PC version would have been a nightmare. The console version would have been much better off with you. It seems a lot of computer games now a days require at least a little tweaking here and there to get going perfectly, whether it is simply updating drivers or something along those lines.

Try the console version and then tell me what you think.

Black Ops is based on a improved id Tech 3 (12 years old). It better should run on any system with a descrete graphics card out there.

... and yes, trying to run a OpenGL game on a card that has never had working OpenGL drivers isn't a good idea, but then start hating on the game is an even worse idea.

U guys simply dont understand what I mean. I hate publishers behavior to take my money even if it doesnt work on my PC.

Official system requirements
http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/09/07/rage-system-requirements-revealed/
Minimum:

OS: Win XP SP3, Vista, Win 7
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo or Equivalent AMD
Memory: 2GB
Hard Disk Space: 25GB
Video Card: GeForce 8800, Radeon HD 4200

I think I have that.

Does it work? NO
Did I update my drivers properly? YES
Did I get all the patches from Steam? YES
Does it work now? NO
What else do they expect from me, except my money and to shut up? NOTHING

So, keep your game, start working together with the card developers BEFORE taking my money, and dont complain afterwards if people dont buy it. Look at amazon.co.uk. They throw it out for 16.99 since weeks. No wonder, possibly too many complaints. I dont know, and I dont care.

I am simply a user with money, and not willing to do many different try and error stuff.
I do only:
- Install
- Get patches for the game
- Get newest drivers for my system
- Restart

My experience AFTER all the updates was:
- after the intro: only blue textures --> restart game
- normal textures now--> running down the first hill --> suddenly all textures with lowest quality --> restart game
- turning down all the possible graphic settings ingame --> continue game by pressing ESC --> game crash
- restarting game, making it to the buggy, within the buggy I think, best is to save the game so I dont need to see the intro again, pressing ESC again to enter the menu --> game crashes
- restarting game, touching nothing, leaving the first chamber to the outside world, suddenly all textures are blue again
- deinstalling game, contacting amazon, getting a refund within 1 day, sending back the game, and be left with a feeling of just being completely fooled.
- entering this forum and be generally called an idiot...thx

This is where you lost me. Skyrim has nothing to do with Rage other than they were both published by Bethesda. That's like saying, I'll never play Mass Effect 3 because Madden was a crap game (both published by EA). I guess if you don't want to buy Skyrim because of your experience then the only person your harming is yourself. Skyrim is great.

You are riight at that point, maybe I went too far. But I simply wanted to say that I completely lost my trust in the professionality of the publisher...
