Forum censors LMGTFY? : Othor Games

Here's a random observation:

Make any "LMGTFY"-link (Let me Google that for you), and the forums instantly convert them into direct Google search links.

Thats because you get warnings for posting lmgtfy links. Basically I think that it was felt that it was a bit snarky.

That's because there was a time when EVERYONE just posted lmgtfy links instead of actually contributing to the conversation.

Those were dark days, I myself even contributed to the mayhem. Though sometimes at the time I might put in a never gonna give you up rick roll.

well, they ARE rude and unhelpful, especially if the person already googled it but wasn't familiar enough with the topic to know if any of the links were any good

(not to mention if someone is asking for help, giving them a LMGTFY link is like saying "go away")

You could always throw it through a link shortener if you really want to do it for some reason, the link will still work but you'll probably catch a warning for bypassing the censor.

I suppose it's in the same category as "RTFM", which is seldom actually intended to be helpful. I can understand why they'd feel disinclined to allow what's essentially flamebait.
