Warranty question

this is just a question ive wondered awhile
why dont a lot of cell phone companies cover water damage?

Because dropping your phone in the toilet isn't a manufacturing fault...

You're SUPPOSED to keep your phone dry. If you don't, then that's your fault. It'd be like if I smashed my phone with a hammer then tried to exchange it under warranty.

Yup. Most limited warranties are only there for fixing faulty parts. Some won't even cover electrical damage.

Don't phone batteries even have a strip that changes color upon water contact to combat this? Maybe I'm thinking of something else.

Whats funny is the little insurance deal I have on my phone covers that but not water.
