My father just bought a new Acer Aspire 5552 from the Shopping Channel, he wanted me to do the basics of setting up a new computer. Everything works fine, but the touch pad is totally unresponsive. I tried Fn+F7 which did nothing, I also tried reinstalling the driver, both did absolutely nothing. What could it be?

get a usb mouse, track pads svck.

I did buy him a USB mouse, but he's one of those people who wants everything working as it should.

What could it be? Acer's crappy QA. Acer laptops are horridly faulty.

If it doesn't work I would send it back :shrug:
But DEFRON is right Acer doesn't exactly make high quality merchandise so it's probably a defect.
