Oldboy

If that movie means nothing to you, then you're in the wrong thread. Although I'd suggest sticking around.

I've just finished watching I Saw the Devil. Incredible movie. A fairly typical South Korean revenge thriller, but that's certainly no bad thing. More accessible than Oldboy, and far more violent, a pure revenge movie from start till finish.

So this topic is basically to discuss that niche but very distinct genre that is the South Korean revenge movie. I figure there are enough of them (and more importantly, enough really definitave and influential movies) for it to warrant it's own thread.

For me, Oldboy is still where it's at. It's one of the most amazing films ever made.

EDIT: Given that the title of this thread suggests it's about South Korean film-makers, I should stress that it doesn't just have to be about violent revenge movies. Any S. Korean movies worth a mention can be discussed here.
