I really like N+. It's pretty fun. Try the demo first to see if you like it too. :)

N+ rules, gets insanely difficult later on, too. Doom II is also a must.

If you don't have them already, you can't go wrong with Doom, Doom II, and Duke Nukem 3D.

How about The Dishwasher Dead Samurai? It looks pretty cool. Anybody play it? Also, Metal Slug 3. I love that game.

The former is often considered a puzzle game for its kill chaining and polarity switching mechanics. Both make scoring fairly difficult. The latter's scoring is also tough to master, requiring you to keep a steady flow of coins going. It also must be maintained for the entire duration of the game, not just on a stage-by-stage basis. Good stuff if you're a fan of the tough as nails coin-op games of yore that require practice, though each has easier difficulties if you just feel like going through and blowing stuff up.

Braid
Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World
Limbo
Mega Man 9
Mega Man 10
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2
Bionic Commando Rearmed
'Splosion Man

Edit- I've heard amazing things about Bastion. I haven't gotten around to downloading the demo yet, but I'd check it out.

Limbo is a simply amazing game. It's a side-scrolling platformer/puzzle game with a really unique art-style and incredible gameplay.

The one problem? It'll take around two hours for your first playthough, and it costs 1200 MS points. At 800, it wouldn't be so bad, but for the money, it's VERY short. Still, it's an absolutely amazing gaming experience while it lasts (and it does have some replay value I guess).

I can't recommend it enough, but I do want to make you aware that if you do buy it, you are essentially spending 1200 points on a two hour game.

Super Meat Boy- Just have something soft to throw your controller at.

Monday Night Combat- Very fun TPS. Teamwork is a must. Horde mode or DOtA with tower defense are your choices.
