The Q3-lawsuit battle against Mojang

As you can read on Noth's blogpost linked above, he challenges Bethesda in a Quake 3 battle.

Or if you don't want to open the link, here's the challenge part of the post:

The only negative thing going on at this moment is the Scrolls trademark lawsuit nonsense, and I think I came up with the perfect solution:

Remember that scene in Game of Thrones where Tyrion chose a trial by battle in the Eyrie? Well, let’s do that instead!
I challenge Bethesda to a game of Quake 3. Three of our best warriors against three of your best warriors. We select one level, you select the other, we randomize the order. 20 minute matches, highest total frag count per team across both levels wins.

If we win, you drop the lawsuit.

If you win, we will change the name of Scrolls to something you’re fine with.

Regardless of the outcome, we could still have a small text somewhere saying our game is not related to your game series in any way, if you wish.

I am serious, by the way.

So, do you think the battle will take place? Who will win? Will we (the wild crowd cheering) get to see the answer to the challenge officially from Bethesda (prettyplease!)? Would you watch it?

Oh, and no talking about you opinions on the actual lawsuit. I don't care about your opinions, you may or may not share mine, but that's not to be discussed here, by looking at other topics on the matter (all closed).

Personally, I hope for a close win by Mojang, being a fellow Swede. Not by far though. Just a few more frags to settle it. Nothing personal, Bethesda. And I hope you'll accept! :D

Well if you read the other topics, you should know since the challenge is related to the lawsuit it's a nono.

So I think the only challenge is what mod is going to be here first. My money is on the bear.

But as for my two cents:
Bethesda owns id, the guys who made Quake, so...

If it does take place, I'm putting my money on Space Marines coming and crashing the party.
For the greater good.

I'd put money on Donner or the Overly cute Rabbit.

I think it's a funny little proposition. I hope ZeniMax (the ones who are suing, not Beth.) takes the joke (and the hint) and either goes a long with it or just calls the whole thing off.

That being said, discussion of Beth's. legal issues are forbbiden so yeah

I hope they do this. I find this whole lawsuit to be silly, I hate it when game companies fight each other over pointless stuff like this.

We don't allow discussion of Bethesda's legal issues on the forum.
