Headphones not working

My headphones aren't working

I am using Windows 7, the headphones are realtek high definition audio.

They are set as default and the computer recognises them, but they aren't making any sound (nothing ismuted either.)

Has anything happened to them? How old are they? Perhaps they're broken.

They're about a month old, and they were working before, they just cut out all of a sudden.

are these USB or regular headphone jack type?

USB: try another port or plug in another device (to see if it's the port or not)

headphone jack: try rotating the jack a bit that sometimes works for me

Try a completely different computer. If they don't work on there, they are probably dead.
