Let me know if this is a decent build that could run some decent games. Future games im looking to play on my PC are Borderlands 2, Dark Souls, and the new Resident Evil coming out, they dont need to be High settings just so I can be able to run it.

Also, if there is a way i can make this about $80-$100 cheaper but near the same specs, please let me know.

Looks pretty good so far. You could get a 6870 instead, less powerful but still powerful enough to max plenty of games.

From what I've heard, both Intel and AMD are planning to release new model CPU's sometime fairly soon. When they are released, it's likely that all current models will see a little bit of a price dip. If you are willing to wait it out, I would. But since there is no set date, it could be tomorrow, it could be around the holiday season or later. Nobody really knows.

I've heard from the rumor mill AMD is due to release Bulldozer on Septemer 19th and Intel is aiming Ivy Bridge for 2012.

Sweet! I wasn't aware that AMD was so close. I was planning on ordering the AM3 CPU I am using with a new build in the next couple weeks, I guess I can wait it out to save a few bucks. Thanks for the tip!

Dang and here I was thinking of getting me one of those shiny 975s and upgrading my I7 920. To the OP I would definitely do some hunting on the internetz to see when AMD and Intel are going to release their new chipsets. Right now we are at the 32nm level and if they are indeed proceeding to the 22nm stage it maybe best to wait a bit. From what i've researched and read/heard the smaller the scale the less heat generation.

Oh yeah, prices will drop by then on some components. Its best to choose parts when you are closer to the build date, as the AMD 7xxx series will probably be out by then.

They are all compatible, but just pointing out the motherboard only has one PCI-E x16. So if you intend on going Crossfire/SLI in the future you would want another motherboard. Or if you want to add a PCI-E x8 or higher add on card.

May I ask what Crossfire/SLI is, sorry. Im not big into this stuff.

Crossfire is having two or more AMD video cards running together, and SLI is when you run 2 or more Nvidia cards together.

The 6870 is a good card. If you feel like spending a bit more (still less than the Nvidia Card) get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102949. I have it and it absolutely destroys everything I throw at it including Crysis on Ultra High. From what I've heard the 6950 is almost identical to the 6970 as far as performance goes so it's a pretty good bang for your buck.

Nice build you got there. To save some money, the GTX 560 is about 10% slower than the Ti, but still a good card for modern games.
