Function Keys

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 6:42 pm

Okay so most people with laptops know what I'm talking about. Having to hit the "fn" (Function) key, and the F_ button you want. If you don't hit fn it does some random process.

How do I turn this off? I HATE them so much. I would love to turn them off. Please help.

Or reverse it, so I have to hold down fn to use the alternate function

Also Idk if it matters, I'm on Windows 7

EDIT: trying this possible fix http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110810143502AA2AqIL
EDIT EDIT: IT WORKED!!!!!! Fix: Boot in Bios mode (F10 when booting) and go to the systems tab. Look for action keys. It's set to enable by default. Switch it to disable. It reverses it.

See if it's in the BIOS. If it's not you could try to find the driver for it and uninstall*.

*Assuming it does it through a driver and this may be a bad idea.

Wait, are you implying that an answer on yahoo answers turned to be useful? The world is going to end.
