Thinking about selling some stuff

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 1:57 am

Right, so I have two items I'm thinking about selling to purchase a 3D monitor. The two items in question are my current monitor, an LG W2486L Black 24", and my electric guitar/case. The guitar I'm not 100% sure what type of guitar it is, but what I do know is that it was roughly $400 brand new and that the body is one solid piece. I haven't played the guitar in years, and I honestly prefer acoustic guitars anyway.

I don't have a monitor in mind yet, but I know it NEEDS to have at least two HDMI ports and a DVI port, assuming the PC can make use of nVidia 3D vision through a DVI cable. Otherwise I'll need three HDMI ports.

Any advice? Also if you know of a good 3D monitor please let me know.

For a 3D setup? I know I definitely wouldn't. In fact I'd spend money to NOT upgrade to a 3D setup (I know, that makes no sense...)

3D is overrated and pointless. I hope it phases out.

While I would agree for film, the 3D effects in games are actually pretty neat. Still, you wouldn't catch me selling anything or spending large sums of money upgrading for 3D specifically.

So you guys are saying that I shouldn't sell an item I don't use and a item I want to sell for a better one because 3D is stupid? :P

Well, you did ask to begin with. Seems like you have a pretty good idea of what you wanna do regardless of our input (which is how it should be). :P

I do, but I'm just looking for different opinions.

Not real sure that they got 3D right yet. Every decade or so, 3D "starts" becoming the "wave of the future," and admittedly it does get better every time, but It's still just a gimmick to me. Until they invent holodecks, I don't think I'd be satisfied. But that's just my opinion. If you truly think that it's right for you, why not? Sell what you want and get what you want.
