A friend having trouble with BGS account

A friend of mine has asked me to look into her password issue. She has sent three requests to Bethesda for new passwords, but has gotten no reply. Bethesda's support page has been down for days.

To confuse matters even further I read this in the sticky at the top of this forum: "Trying to help as many folks with email account issue, but please make sure make sure that the email address you want to use isn't associated with an existing account (including the temporary alt accounts you're creating to reach me)."

Am I reading this wrong? Is Bethesda saying they want us to create new email accounts in order to get a new password? This can't be. My email was "associated with an existing account" and I was able to get a password.

I feel like I'm not understanding something here. This isn't making any sense to me.

I had an issue like this. Chances are your friend hasn't received the email because she doesn't know what email account her user name is actually associated with. Here's how she can fix this and find out if she's using the right email.

Make a new account and under "email" ask her to type in her current email address. If its being used, the rest of my advice will not help, and she/you should probably get in touch with Gstaff.

If it isn't being used, tell her to create a brand new email account, associate it with her new account and message Gstaff about having her email changed on her original account to the email she regularly uses.

She can then send the password reset, and everything should be good. :)

Back at your original question though, Gstaff was referring to users like me who couldn't remember the passwords, let alone the emails they used to sign up to the forums because they don't use them anymore. He'd help users access their accounts by changing the emails to one they currently use, so long as it wasn't being used by another account.

lol, funny... I've been having this problem for a long time, and I was directed to Gstaff, which I have yet to mail, but I'm certain he should be able to solve it!
