Stop This Windows 7

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 9:47 am

Issue: Every 5 minutes of inactivity my computer logs off. I want this to go away!

Never had this before, never touched any settings. It's annoying when I want to leave a download or do a virus scan then come back to find everythings been paused do to the log off.

I feel like there something on my computer I can click and fix this. Unfortunately I was born with a disease that makes it impossible for me to see the obvious (In others peoples point of view). (Not really)

Anyway, I'm going to have a sandwich and when I (Log back on my computer :glare: ) I hope to find a caring person who can help solve this issue. Help me stop my computer from logging off from inactivity.

Click Start/Control Panel/Power Options. Then choose Change Plan Settings. You can set them for a variety of times or "Never".

Sounds like it is set to log off every five minutes then. I think you need to change that from either control panel or the desktop (just right click on the background image you're using for example).

Click Start/Control Panel/Power Options. Then choose Change Plan Settings. You can set them for a variety of times or "Never".

Also control panel->Personalization->Screen Saver make sure that "On resume, display logon screen" is unchecked (or just disable screensaver entirely)

I once had screen saver cause it despite screen saver being disabled. It kept doing it until I reenabled screen saver and disabled it again. Still don't know why that was the case

Your computer has a virus. It's called Microsoft Windows. I recommend doing a reformat of your hard drive.

Have you tried changing your theme? Maybe disable Aero.

I think I'll get this Thread closed. Thanks for the help/tips everyone.
