What the heck is going on?

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 6:41 pm

Wow! I really planned on waking up on this christmas morning and seeing all the great reviews and feedback. All I hear is bad things. I see the pc version is having problems. I hope us console people are doing ok for once. I hate to say it but I will, I realize it svcks for you some of you pc users but now you know how we console owners feel, at least ps3 owners. Lately there is always a problem playing a game in the first couple days. I wish everyone would be able to play with no problems but that seems of something in the past.

Enough about that, why so many thumbs down? I'm going to pick this game up in a couple hours and to be honest all my excitement is gone after seeing these forums. I really hope it's just haters who just signed up for the forum today just to bash rage. Everytime a game comes out forums get flooded with haters. Please anyone who has been a long time forum member tell me this game is amazing, someone got to have some positive feedback. I am buying it on ps3 and I really hope everything is going well. Anyone been a longtime fan and have something good to say? I realize that there are some problems when a game comes out but more than 80% of the time it's people who just decided to pick the game up today and play it. Also I understand people who have been waiting years for this game, if go get rage today and there are major problems then I'll be right with you. Not true entirely , I won't be selling it back. It takes a few days to clear up the bugs sometimes.

Anyway I just want to hear the good things because I know they are out there. I just think all the huge rage fans are busy playing the game, I hope. Still even with all the negativity I am still totally stoked, just a little shocked by the bad things people are saying.

Same here, woke up excitedly to read the reviews, then I got to the forum and saw this. I preloaded it on Steam, can't play it yet as I'm in Europe, but even if I was in the US I wouldn't return it, I'd wait for the patches.

I just hope most of the people who have been with us on this forum for a while are playing and are having way to much fun to put it down.

At the end of the day when you average out all the reviews the game will be a '8.75 - 9.25 out of 10' and that's a great score IMO.

People playing and having a great time are not really getting back online to post as much as those who just drank all the Hateraide.

If someone rants they need to give the spec.s of the system they are playing and post it in the appropriate section.

I'm just a bit disappointed in gamers these days. I remember when we all worked together identifying and tracking problems on release. I remember when bugs were actually expected on release dates with new games and folks made a game out of figuring out what they are and got into helping developers figure it out by calmly documenting their issues instead of ranting and raging about them.

We've come a long way in games but we've lost the all for one and one for all attitude of the past.

I'm not making excuses for anyone here but I do find the change in attitude over the years to be a bit disappointing.

Gamers used to be a tight-knit community. There are too many of them nowadays, so it'll never be like that again. The more mainstream gaming gets, the worse the community will be.

That's the natural order of a game forum unfortunately. Those who have problems with the game will come here either to seek for help or simply complain about it, and those who could say good things are instead busy enjoying the game.

Judging from past game launches, I think it's fairly safe to say that the silent majority are enjoying the game, but you won't hear from them :P

From my experience in playing the game for about 5 hours or so . . . the game is great except for some texture problems that will probably be patched within a month.

Mod closed my thread asking if the patch will be from video card makers or from RAGE and applied to the game :S

Does anyone know who will be giving us a patch to fix the issues with the pc version of RAGE?

Video card makers or RAGE game makers?

Some people are complaining because:

1) They are having driver / performance issues on the PC
2) PS3 version has lots of pop up
3) 360 vesrion also has texture pop up but less than PS3

People are blaming id for the limitations of consoles and for driver issues on the PC.

Well most games have driver issues on PC.
And console gamers should be glad that these current systems can even run the game.

I don't see the need for people to be negative.

Look at the main forum list someone has a post that ATI is working on a fix.
I'm not going to be playing on a PC so that's all the help I can give...

I can see PC having negative feedback because of the graphics issue. I'm on 360 and by brother too. Both our copies are fine and have had no graphical or game play problems.

PC
PNY GeForce 545 (1.5g DDR3, 750Mhz)
AMD Athlon Quad Core II (3Ghz)
8 gig DDR3

I built my system to be a bit better than the XBox 360 so I could play Rage and Skyrim. It's by no means a great gaming rig, so if it plays OK for me it should be OK for almost everyone not using a laptop.
