Hello i was wondering if after i install Skyrim on steam will i have to download anything like when i installed left 4 dead 2 I had to download a 1 gig file just to get the game to work. Does this happen for every steam game? I'm new to steam (well not really but it's been a LONG time since i was last a steam user)

There is usually at least a small "Day One Patch" for every game and sometimes there are larger patches at this time.

There is not any way to know the precise size of the day one patch until Skyrim's release date. However, once you have activated and installed the game, it is possible to change your settings so that your game is not updated automatically with subsequent patches.
