In anticipation of TES V: Skyrim im buying a new tv (32" LCD TV).
I am concerned about the refresh rate (50 Hz)
Will this work well with skyrim?

Only the PAL TV signal is at 50Hz. Modern console games are at 60Hz.

In any case, any modern PAL compatible TV should also be able to handle 60Hz just fine, so it's not an issue

You really don't need any interpolation stuff that "enhance" the input signal to 100, 200, 400 or 600Hz, cause frankly, they are rubbish and only increase the input lag.

Well, to be 100% sure I suggest you look for the manual online. LG, Samsung and others offer their manuals on their websites.

But really, the vast majority of PAL TVs sold in the past ~20 years handle it fine, so it would be odd if whatever TV model you're interested in do not.


Plasma TVs are quite far from being junk, as they often have superior image quality compared to CCFL LCDs.

The best thing about LED LCDs is that they are very energy efficient (and can therefore also be made very thin), not the image quality.
