Games you might have missed

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 8:03 pm

Figured while everyone is anxiously waiting for Skyrim why not take some time out and check out some games from the past or present that you are crazy if youve never played them before, I use a few emulators so i prefer to dig into the vault and find some old gems i was never able to play back in the day but here are some suggestions that i can think of that can waste a few hours or so of the next week;

SNES:
Chrono Trigger
Final Fight
Zelda A link to the past

N64:
Harvest Moon
Zelda Ocarina of Time

Playstation:
Chrono Chross
Oddworld Abes Odyssey

Dreamcast:
Jet Grind Radio

Just a few off the top of my head that i would suggest you take some time maybe grab and emulator or if you have gamefly check it out, please suggest your own as i would love to check out some also (and btw dont flame me for not having any FF games up there i just never got into them, maybe if someone can suggest a good one to start over the next week or so)

Not sure if talk of emulators is allowed (quick edit!), but Earthbound (aka Mother 2) is a must play RPG for the SNES.
Road Trip for the PS2 had tons of character. Only open world racing game I've ever played.

@steampunk
Earth Defense Force 2017 is awesome. Awesome in an awesomely badly awesome kind of way. Nothing better than killing giant bugs and robots. Seriously, a must buy for 360 (and I bet you can get it dirt cheap in a bargain bin somewhere...). Not too fond of the sequel though. It's like they tried too hard, it just didn't have the same charm.

Recently it would be Assassin's Creed, I just don't find it very interesting but people talk about it like its the greatest thing ever. I've played a little bit of it, and just didn't enjoy it that much. It doesn't help that the fans talk about Ezio and Alatair like their Gods or something.

Cubivore for the Gamecube. I haven't seen a copy of it since I rented it, but it's probably one of the most memorable games I've played.

Assassin's Creed 2 is where the series gets interesting, in my opinion. AC1 was interesting in that it opened up a new concept for gaming, but I don't think they did the best job with their new system. It wasn't until the sequel that Ubi really started exploring the possibilities and made a game that was substantially more fun than usual. I still haven't played through more than 10-20% of AC1, but I consider myself a huge fan of the series.

TES Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion...

Majoras Mask. Wind Waker. Twilight Princess.(Zelda)

FF X and XII. Both great games despite the negativity some FF fans have for them.

Demons Souls and Dark Souls.

Dragon Quest 8.

Heroes of Might and Magic 3, 5, and now 6. If you like turn based strategy games.

Resident Evil 4.

GTA IV and Saints Row 2.

Dragon Age Origins...okay Dragon Age 2 as well.

Fallout 1-3 and New Vegas.

LMAO...Shadow of Rome for PS2. Just do not expect Historical accuracy. I am a history buff and I still enjoyed it.

There are a lot of good games out there.

Tie-Fighter
Dark Forces
Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight
Rebel Assault II

Or any of those other great mid-late 90s LucasArts games.
