The Witcher 1 Enhanced Edition

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 11:25 am

So I bought this game a little over a year ago from Wal-Mart for 20 bucks, got it home and realized my computer couldn't run it.

My family recently bought a new computer for the family room and according to canirunit.com it will work perfectly on theirs.

However, I know there's a lot of six and such in this game and that's not something I want to be playing in front of my 13 year old sister or my family since it would be pretty awkward to explain so I'm wondering if the Enhanced edition from Wal-Mart is censored, as I've read a couple of places, just how censored it is if so, is it avoidable or if not, are there any safe mods out there that allow me to disable to six scenes?

Was thinking this would be a perfect game to tide me over til Skyrim then I remember that it might not work out... =/

Thanks for any replies.

There's sixual situations available, but they're not necessary for advancing the plot or anything like that.

Witcher censored? Nope. I have the Enhanced Edition, and it sure as [censored] isn't censored, and there are plenty of naked women around. Though they're not humans and often times you wish they were not naked. Nothing like a bloated, grey, 200 year old looking wicked witch charging at you in groups of three. Sagging and all.

On the good side, the six scenes only appear if you allow it to happen, and if you do, immediately smash the esc as much as you can. Also, the six scenes don't advance the plot, they're there for the lulz, and I'd guess situations like that happen often in the books.

There's not so much "six scenes" as there are collectible nvde cards (gotta catch 'em all), which are optional.

Hmm ok, so there are naked monsters to kill.. and the six scenes are avoidable?

What percentage of monsters do you think are naked, rough estimate?

Personally I wouldn't care if the computer was in a private area but it's really not.

Thanks for the fast replies. :)

Hrmm....the total that have visible genitalia? 5% at most. You won't be able to see much in-game, and trust me, you don't want to. If you want to be the judge of that, I'd go to the Witcher Wiki http://witcher.wikia.com/wiki/Witcher_Wiki

Also, there are two female NPCs that are also fully naked, with one that pulls a Aphrodite and is a local deity, while the other that doesn't hid it and is a dryad (looks like a green human). The local deity does matter, the other one is optional.

Murdering people and slaughtering monsters is no big deal, but the moment there's six or nudity it becomes uncomfortable. What a strange world.

Yes yes, we've all heard it before.

It is a very strange world indeed but it's a lot easier to explain why I'm having a sword fight than it is why I'm having virtual six.

I'm pretty sure that in the US localization, the Dryad chick has her privates covered with strategically placed hair. Of her head, that is.

The original release was censored, the Enhanced Edition patch removes all censorship.

I have the Steam copy of the enhanced edition, live in the US, and I she's surely in full display with no room for any imagination. It's the lady of the lake that has her hair cover her bottom parts.

Ah, I knew there were two versions, been a while since I played it though. In the Euro original release, the Dryad was definitely uncensored though.

I'm pretty certain that in the original US release, the censorship was there. And the Lady of the Lake (Hello Arthur legend plagiarism!) has the hair-covering in all versions.

You can be noble and heroic whilst killing someone, but it's hard to heroically engage in casual six.

I definitely wouldn't play the game where my family could watch. It can actually be difficult to avoid some of the content (it sneaks up on you) and if you skip over it, you're really handicapping yourself (lots of missed xp and rewards). Plus, while the visual content can be minimized, the auditory content can't. Iirc, there's a lot of graphic spoken sixual content. According to your foes, Geralt's mother is very popular with the dwarven men.

Lies. I do it all the time.

It's because of all the charity work she did for the Dwarves, not due to exceptional oral skills.

I know what you mean. It's just odd.
