Because Skyrim is Steamworks powered, does the D2D purchase of Skyrim basically equal a Steam purchase? Does it just give me a code to activate on Steam and after that point it'll be like I just bought it on Steam in the first place? Because if so, I'll just get it on D2D for $6 less.

It would have to. You wouldn't be able to play it if it didn't give you a Steam activation code.
