Now that they got most of the sales ...

seems like marketing switched quickly back to skyrim , twitter's dead ... except CatalystCreator

... you know PC games sell over time , not in all one jolt(and never again) like on consoles

Not much effort put on the PC platform ... more reasons for people not to buy on PC... and then they say "see how PC has small player base ... we we're correct 3 years ago and ever since" ...

How consoles can't be huge sellers - they have all kinds of people including very young (easier for marketing to screw around) also old demographic ... the simplicity just attracts every guy. That's all it is. The ""PC people"" that moved to consoles aren't and weren't the real PC people they are lousy can't-tweak-windows-noobs and traitors , those that switched to consoles might have switched multiplatform and obviously are now Steam [censored]. (Steam copycat off Xfire and the whole system is trying to be just like XLIVE, plus steam's terms are making it feel like a console - if you sell on steam you can't sell anywhere else)

PC People just don't see fun in cinematic pushes imo ... no need to switch to a new game when never's better than CSS.

It's the same for me ... i stayed with COD2 the longest (my own custom mod rifle-only server was still on and popular til mid 2010) and COD4 .... a little COD5 , never really felt anything rewarding or interesting to keep playing the modern titles.

Let's see what BF3 does. Race against the time ..... Race .... ID Studio better be out soon , or better after the BF3/MW3 hypemachine. And that can last til december.

Every effort made now will greately and positively help Doom4 ... come on ! One company that has a chance to support and keep PC "alive in the press" is ID and they backed down for some reason. "ah see today most (crap) games release on consoles we, should follow (stupid) suits too"

When Rage issues came - it was major distancing off - they said "pc not leading platform" ---- months before rage release "we made a mistake (following the suits back in 2006-to-2009) - we should mainly develop for PC and deploy on consoles later"

That comment against the PC - no matter of it's validity - hurts sales of the game. Congratz for picking the worst time to say that.

And for the validily ... it's only about the FPS genre just like said on QuakeCon .... MMOs are masters on PC and exceed consoles. You guys don't take this so seriously and should not react to it ... it's an non arugmented response, PC is not the leading platform for FPS games currently - that's it and only that.

It wouldn't surprise me if the horrible RAGE launch was because of a rushed release to get it out quickly before Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3 and various other games that would then 'steal' all the sales, and if they waited till next year they would miss the Christmas sale.

I've never understood these crismas sales stuff --- this stuff applies mostly to americans ... i don't really care about the time of the year.

If they rely on "random shopping people" that go mostly out shopping in holiday seasons - they're:

- targeting the "wrong" demographic
- doing desing choices as well as different marketing that ruins the whole game for sake of it
- that's not how you make games for fans

Basically - this tells you the studio lost it's soul and pretty much doesn't care about the actual community or the health of the market as well as it's product quality. And that's when the cheap excuses come in.

In other words ... if it's not intentional (MW2 was intentional) .... i call this INEXPERIENCE.

That means ... most of the industry is inexperienced to cope and adapt to the demands of the PC market.
