So, you still playing Rage?

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 8:38 pm

So, I was almost finished with Rage but, I stopped and went back to Gears of War 3. I'm gonna finish it....but once the SP has ended for me, I might play through on Nightmare, but I'm pretty much done. There is no metagame, the "multiplayer" is laughable, just....no real reason to keep me playing. Makes me think this was just a demo for the Id Tech 5 engine. I know that the devs worked hard on the game...so I don't want to dismiss their efforts. But games need to be made to keep the players involved.

My question to forum goers here is....how many times are you gonna play the SP? How many times are you gonna play rally racing? For another week? Another month? Let me know...i just don't see any replay value.

I'm on my second playthrough, and I'm definitely feeling that it's one of those games that I'm going to be coming back to over and again down the years. It's fun, it's stylish, it's sufficiently varied. There is a lot of content and a lot of stuff to do in there, but you do have to do a little work yourself to uncover it. That's OK - to me it's Final Fantasy 7 as an FPS; no complaints.

Had preordered and have been playing RAGE since 10/4, finished single player campaign last nite. I plan to keep playing Legends of the Wastelands both splitscreen & co-op also will continue RAGE MP car combat mode.

The MP Road RAGE Carnage (vehicle Deathmatch) is really great! And plan to keep leveling up my vehicle there. Check out Carnage if you haven't tried it yet!

Also will go back to campaign and play it over eventually.

EDIT: P.S. I have no plans to trade or sell this game EVER! And anxiously await DLC!

My next 6 months involve: playing and replaying RAGE as each DLC emerges, getting FO:NV Lonesome Road DLC and proceeding to do a Hard difficulty/hardcoe Mode/Dead is Dead playthrough, picking up ME3 and praying I don't have to mine any friggin resources

As soon as I'm done with nightmare, I'll perhaps do another run to get all achievements and then really get into MP as well as play COOP with the handful of friends that have this game and the fine people in this forum!

I'm only 6 hours in because I don't have that much time to play. And then Skyrim comes out on the 11th so I don't know when I'll finish it.

Yes will play again. This is my 3rd now on nightmare. But comes Nov 8, MW3 will rule with MP and Survival excellent game play. Buggie combat is a joke.

But I have a problem : Doom3 became sluggish since DL latest Rage.exe!! I lost my old rage.exe which was fine with both Rage and Doom3.
Someone else reported same problem on another thread!

Been playing Rage on and off for about 15 - 16 hours saved play time (probably more when you consider deaths and reloading from a checkpoint loses registered play time), scouring everything, exploring, looking for secrets, collecting as much as I can and just enjoying taking my time with the game. I'm at

the Dead City now for the second time.
Really enjoying the game the more I play it. Was a little disappointed at first, though.

Haven't tried the multiplayer yet, so cannot comment on that. I would like to get all PS3 trophies so will be playing through the SP on Nightmare.

Yes i'm still playing it. However, I have no idea for how much longer so your poll is questionable. However, this is my 2nd play through and after I'm done this time i'm probably trading it in.

I nabbed a ton of games this year (became disabled, so I sold my car to make my home-bound status more comfortable), so I have a lot of catching up to do. Currently, I'm bouncing between Rage, Dead Island, and Duke Nukem Forever, and for those where I finish the SP, I take a break for a bit while working on SP of something else. I do pop them in for multiplayer (played a lot of Homefront MP today) and when I eventually get caught up, I'll go through again on harder difficulty. So "years to come" is a good answer for me.

I'm a huge id fan from way back and have been waiting for them to come out with another single player game. Doom 3 was OK, but Rage is what I've been waiting for since Quake 2. Graphics improvements I can really appreciate, lots of new little touches like animations and game play dynamics, and an actual plot and characters with dialogue that doesn't flat out svck. At this point I'm just hoping it will keep me going until Doom 4 comes out, but I'm sure I may pick it up again years later.

Well.....that pretty much tells me where these forum posters are at in gaming. Thanks for all the input, I respect all of you in your gaming practices...just not my style. There are so many better games coming out and so many great games that have come out over the past year...Rage is not at the top of my list for greatest games of all time. But, I can see that fanboyism and stubbornness run hand in hand here on the Rage forums. When you guys are done lying to yourselves, only then will you have truly embraced the dark side.

I'm guessing only one or two of you are going to put down Rage for Skyrim....those of you who are not God help your soul. And for those of you "leveling up" your car in combat rally racing...I know a good psychiatrist that may be able to help you.

AHHHH, now let the hate flow.

I just played again for the third time... but this time on nightmare. My heart-rate was still high and I'm getting better at dispensing with the enemy. I’ve got my Monarch fully-trickled out now and I've saved enough points in the game to revisit each task. I went as far as to get the Pulse Rifle and I've fought with the car patrols from authority; but that's as far as I'll go. Jut cleaned out the Blue Line again and I swear it felt different somehow. The AI seemed smarter this time around. If I didn't know any better what we just played was Rage One. The minions would naturally be the first line of defense (for any evil authority) then the second tier and then your boss. I kept wondering, who’s in charge of these armored soldiers? Who's making/converting these mutants? It has to be something we haven't seen yet. There has to be a chain of command that goes up from there. The complex has to be bigger than it was, as in some areas it seemed deserted. It’s hard for me to believe all you had to do was flip a few switches and you were done.

Hmm, "God help your soul" if we don't play Skyrim. Who's the really devoted fan, again? Hypocrite much? Not only with that but saying you respect how others game, but then insult the entire forum. Nice try, troll.

No, the hate won't flow. And I will shut down your thread, since really, you weren't interested at all in what people were thinking, you just wanted to rant and put down our members. Please read our forum rules in the future, learn to have, or state, an opinion that doesn't necessitate you slagging others whose opinions differ and you'll do fine here.
