haahha I've been a hardcoe and loyal fan since the days of floating in the Gothic meets Egyptian Quake 1 map, where We jumped into the air to float and not fall into the lava, to have the game make fun of our death: "You have met the lava gods..." haha. Then, there was Quake 2, I had played Quake 2 on a hardcoe level since 1998. Met friends from all over the planet. If it wasn't for Quake 2, I wouldn't have had the foundational skills to lose to Fatality 4 to 3 points, in a casual duel in Quake 4^_^ So yes, I know how to Game, but I also know The Game. I've been a hardcoe gamer, since Mario Brothers back in the 80's. I was so into games back then, that I found with a 2 button controller, glitch after glitch which made Me ride the escalator to success in beating Mario Bro lol<3
To the point, I'm a hardcoe video gamer for life^_^
With My having laid out My gaming credentials on the table succinctly, I MUST PRAISE YOU for All of Your hard work, of which went into Rage. From My using mid-priced hardware(A Phenom II x4 970 and a HD 6850), to My using My Beyerdynamic t1 headphones, of which are hooked up to a $280~ A/V Receiver; this game REALLY comes through for Me!!!!!!!!!
It is apparent to My keen Gaming Eyes, that You, id Software, strove to strike a balance between graphics--of which PC graphics were "kept in check" performance wise by trans-console development(I had to update to AMD's Catalyst 11.10 Preview Drivers to go from below 60 fps avg, to 60 fps STABLE WITH 4x Antialiasing on); between sound--My Beyerdynamic t1's sound like subwoofers on My ears when I'm tearing apart People's rear end during multiplayer; and between Gameplay--You had truly kept Your word, in having Rage strike a cord for those who wanted the best of both the RPG and FPS Worlds...
id Software, please please PLEASE take it from a VETERAN Gamer--Rage is revolutionary under ever critiquing Video Game Assessment of Mine.
Rage, I wish You all the money in the World with Your HUGE success of Rage^_^
