The point of a wife?

So she just hangs out at your house and cooks? That's it?

You can't kiss her? Give her jewelry? Have conversation about recent events you had?

Seriously, I don't know why the feature is in the game if all they do is cook. Is there something I'm missing here?

This is community discussion, so at first I thought you were talking about real life :) It was only at "Have conversations about recent events you had" that I realized you weren't.

Real life is just not immersive enough. The AI for so many of the NPCs are just so broken that I can't force myself to believe that those are supposed to be real humanoids with any intelligence.

Spouses are the worst part - I guess I should have read the wiki first, because mine doesn't even give me unlimited gold from nowhere, and doesn't want to buy all my unused trash for some reason. I thought they all did that.

Maybe Bethesda is enforcing that stereotype about women being in the kitchen making me a dragon sandwich.

OR

maybe they've done exactly what they said they wouldn't do ("add in a feature simply to say its on their list") and leave it as ground work for the mod community, making the experience, purely subjective in terms of the player and what direction they want to take it in.

If you dont like it, dont get married =/

And I'm not saying this to be pretentious, or obnoxious, but rather - if you dont like it, dont do it. Simple fix.

Leveled income, immersion, roleplaying, travelling companion (if applicable).

Lots of reasons.

am i the only 1 that sees absolutely nothing wrong with this?

the mod community is far more creative than the devs will ver be. they also have more freedoms. very few modders would code an entire marriage system from scratch. adding a few tweaks to it is much easier tho.

I like the roleplaying opportunities that they give.
At least they dont have a completely annoying personality like the fable ones.

I actually pretend Im telling my husband about my latest dungeon crawl.
