Can't Access Bethesda Forums

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 4:18 am

I haven't been able to access the Bethesda forums or elderscrolls.com for over a week now. I'm on a public computer now, which is how I'm posting this.

Whenever I try to access it from my home connection, the connection times out. I've tried it on both my wireless and landline, I've cleared my browser cache and cookies, I've tried multiple broswers, I've rebooted my router, checked my router's settings (specifically access restrictions, which are all off), and nothing has worked. Does anybody know what could cause this and/or how to fix it?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum to post this in. Bethesda doesn't appear to have a section specifically dedicated to site problems.

Have you tried turning your computer off and on again?

I'm pretty sure that's a joke (classic tech support solution), but I've tried accessing it on multiple computers, so it's a connection problem of some sort. I have no difficulty accessing any other sites or online services.

I'm out of unhelpful tech support replies.. so I guess I have to come up with a serious answer. <_<

Have you tried to ping the website?

I'll try it when I get on my home PC. The problem is, I can't access the forums from there to post my results. I might have to bump this thread on Friday from a public computer again if I can't find a solution on my own.

Phone tech support and ask them to do a line test to check your connection.

I'd try running a few commands from cmd then restarting:

Ipconfig /flushdns
Netsh int ip reset reset
Netsh winsock reset

Give that a try, thats helped me with some connection issues before.
