I'v recently just got into the multi-player racing in Rage and I must say it's really good fun!
At first when I started racing (of course only level 1) I was like omg I'm getting so pwned!
But after playing a bit I notice that you level up pretty quickly and before you know it you have another car as well as more weapons.
Once you get to at least level 6 there tends to be a bit more balance and of course a bit more practice.
Good stuff. I find the multi-player racing highly addictive!
Oh and don't forget that you get extra power-ups in multiplayer, for example quad damage!

I find the racing just as much fun, if not more fun than the likes of q3a or q3 rocket arena, which were also tons of fun back in the day.
Who else digs the multi-player racing stuff?

I really enjoy the car combat multiplayer in this too however it did have its flaws such as one thing that really buged me was the fact that your vehicle oversteered everytime you reversed so it was annoying when you done a u turn and then try to fire at enemy vehicles while reversing at the same time as your vehicle was uncontrollable however it was usefull for reverse 180's and I felt that it could of used more players than 4 as it is vehiclur combat and so it being mayhem would be apropiate and it could of had perks like the mods in blur like battering ram, laser sight etc and the leveling up could of been more complex like cods or battlefields rather than just simply getting kills to get xp to unlock stuff at certain levels but then however this game specialises in the campaign not the multiplayer so i can understand why the vehicular combat is not so complex and i wouldnt call it online racing as there are no online racing modes, only online vehiculur combat - thats another thing that they should of had because if they had racing in the campaign then I dont see why they shoudnt have it online - Im certainly hoping for the this as DLC! 400MSP (￡3.40) sounds like a fair price. I am certainly hoping for more Legend levels and Road Rage maps as well! Please ID make them as its also easy money for you as well!

The major flaw of combat rally racing is that it is straight up gay. Its sad to think that the pioneers of the FPS are now going to become known as the pioneers of multiplayer mario-cart / Jak and Daxter style hardcoe racing games. This so-called multiplayer is so dumb, its not funny at all. Team Death Match should have been put in the game - NOT rally racing. And people who like combat rally racing....why are you fans of Rage? Its an FPS?

Man ive been playing fps's since the day they were first invented and team death matches are old, repetative and boreing, don't get wrong i love a good fps MP such as bad company 2 and homefront but i respect Id for doing this, thinking outside the box and giving us a fresh, different mp experiance, i like it.

These days team death matches should be renamed to Sniper quick scope matches, becouse everyone picks sniper rifles being a 1 hit kill.

This is where Id are unique, they don't allow sniping in TDM.
In COD you learn to deal with it and in the upcoming MW3 there will be dog tags so snipers most likely won't be able to confirm their kill which means it's useless.
In BF3 it's an epidemic because of the [censored] map design that is why I refuse to play it.

Combat racing maybe appealing to few but majority will pass on it.
How can we explain BF3 selling 487,151 PC copies in 4 days compared to RAGE 90,000 in 25 days!!??

The same way you can explain Justin Beiber selling more records than Red Fang.
To me TDM has become the pop or corporate rock equivalent.

Lots of people buy it, but it doesnt necessarily mean it is something more substantial.

I would argue that DM modes don't take as much of a commitment, once you figure out how to play.
you can jump in a game, and its over pretty quickly. To me, it is more casual than a SP experience, which should be(and in RAGE's case is) immersive.

It's not easy to figure out TDM when you face smart/cunning players.

heh, not saing that you like the beibs, just saying to me that TDM is the gaming equivalent.

It's the laggiest online MP I have EVER played in MY ENTIRE LIFE. Which is unacceptable since there's only 3 other players.

Probably doesn't help that I live in New Zealand but the matching throws me into games with EU/US players regardless of ping. Still, even in other P2P games I don't lag so bad it's unplayable against EU/US players. Which is a shame because otherwise it's insanely fun.

the answer to that is there is only 3-4 players anytime anywhere, i have no lag, ever, but more relevant is you are likely the only person played road rage in NZ.

Ive just been playing rage MP for about an hour today, lv 14 baby! All the Mp race types are awesome, fun, challenging and fast paced.
