My personal RAGE feedback :)

I don't know if this is the right place for it but I hope id/beth/zedi read this at some stage :P

My personal RAGE experience
Personally I thought RAGE was good but lacking a few things which would have made it great. FYI i'm a PC gamer.

Firstly the great:
idtech5
AMAZING game engine. I have old hardware (Nvidia 9800 GTX+ 512mb and AMD 6000 X2 [dual core]) yet the game ran smoother than a babies bottom, no stuttering or whatever. This technology is really great and I can't wait to see it licenced out and used in other games (idtech3 style). The game looked great too, even with the graphics on a lowish setting and without unlocking textures. I also liked how idtech5 used CUDA to achieve some benefits, though this should really be done using OpenCL as then AMD users could benefit.
As a LINUX user I'm looking forward to idtech5 being built for Unix systems and eventually being made open source.

The level sizes also amazed me, the way that the wasteland kept expanding was fantastic. The small levels were good too, though in some ways I felt the emphasis was more on the larger levels.

I liked the concept of an FPS-RPG. In some ways I think a RAGE MMOFPS-RPG might be a good idea in the future. It gave an extra element other than just blasting my shotgun. The way I could do side missions was something new to me and proved quite enjoyable. It did, however, mean the story line was a bit unbelievable at times but I had fun...

The AI was pretty cool too, it gave me a challenge at times... too much of a challenging .. especially on the last level and when fighting the tentacled mutant. However, at times the AI felt too easy and just waste of ammo which was a shame. In RAGE 2 please add an ulta nightmare mode where there's even more enemies too kill and/or they're more intelligent.

The bandit vehicles were kinda fun to kill but annoying at other times. I found it hard to lock the homing missings onto their cars and it was hard to dodge incoming missiles. May I suggest you add a vehicle weapon aiming system like HL2 did with the buggy - this would let players like me users the mouse to aim the gun on a buggy whereas others could use the auto aiming.

Also in RAGE 2 please add a standard multi-player element - RAGE DM would have been nice. It might be a bit old-skool compared to the likes of COD but it would still be fun. Vehicle racing is a nice change though and I'm looking forward to playing Coop.

Finally, my main disappointment with the SP was that some of the NPCs were pretty hard to relate to, they seemed a bit cold and a bit forced. They lacked some of the depth of character found in other games.

Nevertheless, I really enjoyed RAGE and I want more!

thanks - Josh

p.s. I had no issues with my PC hardware (maybe as its older) unlike some players

Don't think so with the two people one PC, but I could be wrong... I would seriously doubt it.

Awesome feedback dude, it's nice to see whta other people thought of it, especially when it explores good and bad. I too wish that i could go out there and shoot my mates in a standard sort of old school Doom style, but hopefully (unlikely) it can be added in a DLC pack. I love the vehicle multiplayer, but a bit of diversity would be nice, and the ability to explore various ammo types on my mates would be pretty cool.

PC games don't allow split screen really - it wouldn't be very fun anyway.
I might try RAGE on my laptop then see if I can get a LAN party going - that would be awesome.

Having a full MP (i.e. quake1 or doom1 style DM) would be good too.

Oh I forgot to say that my GFX card over heated twice while playing :P but that's my fault not the game.

I enjoyed reading your feedback but please try to be careful not to include major spoilers - you mentioned the game's final showdown
