How to be served?

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 9:14 pm

I'm trying to contact with Bethesda since Saturday morning, to ask questions regarding the game Skyrim
I've tried everything, email, twitter, forum, but nowhere can I provide the answer, and not an official pronouncement from him or someone who works there
What should I do?

Dropping by their offices might work. Then again, you might also be chased out of the building by an angry axe-wielding Todd, but its up to you to balance the risk/reward.

That sounds like a win win to me.

Some may consider that a reward in itself.

What's the question?

I wonder if the game Skyrim, XBox 360, coming from Europe, because of the subtitles in Spanish, will work on my XBox 360 U.S.

PM Gstaff or Breckon.

Thanks, I'll try ^ ^

For me it's a chance to play and enjoy everything the game offers, so I'm trying so insistent and sometimes even wrong

Maybe a compadre on here can help you out. It wouldn't hurt to post this question in the Skyrim forums as well. I've read several people talk about French, Italian and German versions of the game being played - and that the translations and voice actors are actually very well done. :D Good luck, man.

If he did that, he would know of your existence, sounds like an awesome thing to me

A quick Google search told me that yes, it is region-locked. If you already bought the European copy I'd recommend trying to get your money back and then using the money for a US copy.

A more thorough Google search tells me that Skyrim is region-free between NTSC-U and PAL. I'm guessing that doesn't include Asian regions.

Hmm. My bad then. That's what I get for taking the first thing that came up for granted.

I would like to thank everyone who helped me.
I'll take another google search, as in all places there is no absolute certainty, just guesses and I'll see if the folks at Bethesda also give me a hand

Good idea. Hopefully someone from Bethesda will be able to confirm it for you 100%, because the only info I could find was on sites like Yahoo Answers.

Apparently Microsoft leaves the region-locking decisions up to the publisher, which is why it's difficult to know for sure.

You spend the Thanksgiving weekend working on the best mod for Skyrim to date, release it and allow it to have ONE fatal glitch. That glitch being the game crashing, potentially destroying the Skyrim game itself AND leaving an encrypted message to anyone trying to get into the data of the game saying "Respond next time."

You want to be served? Stalk someone until they take out a restraining order :P.

Give it a couple of business days, they've probably got a lot of stuff to wade through. Wouldn't be many people working on Saturday/Sunday, so you've really only given them a day so far .

Or maybe they're trying to lull you into a false sense of ignored-ness so you'll never see the van coming :shifty:.

Don't worry about it, the words were close enough to convey your meaning, I just make jokes whenever I'm given half a chance :).
