Only The Good Die Young

Before I begin, I'm saying this as someone who has warmed up considerably to RAGE and actually find it a lot of fun, even the races and I HATE racing games.

But it seems like all hype, conversation, and future for RAGE has just up and died. Steam doesn't give me any news, I can't find anything on any gaming sites, all communication, news, and updates seems to have gone dark, unless there's one specific website I'm just failing to notice. I know the game had a rocky start but I figured a lot of other people would have warmed up to it as well and we'd have a new, respectable franchise on our hands.

No DLC announcements, no modding kits, no nothing. I post this now but it seems like any conversation or updates about the game died within the span of a month which is pretty legendary for an AAA title in this day and age. What gives?

I agree completely. It's like it was released and everyone walked away and said "Well, it'll sink or swim, but I wash my hands of this project!"

To me it makes no sense to spend years developing this game, putting in countless manpower, blood, sweat & tears (and money). Going to all the gaming conventions and talk it up with PR and marketing over & over again, and then release the game, dropping it out on the public and (insert crickets chirping) total silence! Twitter? Message Boards? id's site (outdated), Anyone? Bueller?

Anybody wanna man up and say "Yeah, it was me! I dropped the ball on this one!' Or is there a strategy to this? Is this id's job or Bethesda?

Anyone want to offer me the job and I'll get it done right? I'd work 24/7 to support a game if it was my job.

The title is awfully familiar ... something like a statement from globalists would say.

Can't understand what would that have in common with RAGE

They just keep it quiet, they have confirmed in some news article about skyrim that they're "working on something for RAGE as well"

Just ... it's not THAT bad as it seems , JC said many times PC will get incremental updates that's just what the plan was, but he also knows it was a bad decision and he regrets it, the point is there's nothing else to do but to roll this plan out. PC will receive support for stuff that your normal game wouldnt, for example HMD (head mounted display) , kinect , and other tech-research features as well as super optimized software rendering features re-done, for example perfect anti-aliasing or motion blur etc...

But this is all future plan and everything won't come this year.

You need a better search engine. A quick search of Rage DLC Plans brought up 1.5 million hits and Rage Modding Tools brought up 3.4 million hits.

Whoops! This is what I was talking about.

Great to see the pix, better late than never I guess but man this is great stuff, why treat it like old family photos & stuff it in a drawer with Grandma's old doilies?

I really like John's T-shirt! That should be for sale somewhere to the general public!

Well perhaps ID will come up with news after they assured that the Quality of the DLC, SDK, etc. is garantueed, so there won′t be chaos like it was when Rage was released.
But who knows? I hope, Rage won′t have the same destiny like Brink.

I think one reason for the lack of PR & marketing noise is because of what I saw as a hostile attitude from the press.

Before I had even played the game I saw an interview where the interviewer claimed the game was a brown color palette and said a lot more that I don't agree with after playing the game and see as hositle toward id and the RAGE's release. He claimed killing the enemy seemed like killing artists because they had such beautiful places they lived in. As long as his idea of artist is Charles Manson I guess he has a point. The enemy decorated with human remains most of the time! WTF is he talking about?

I wouldve been all like ".....wait, wut?....." What kind of stupid idiot comment is that?

I'm currently trying to complete all ps3 achievements and then I'll hop back onto multiplayer but in the meantime, I don't see a problem with it. BTW I got the anarchy edition.
