My little brother is currently in high school and plays lacrosse and football. His coaches say that he is an excellent athlete and has a shot at college ball with a scholarship. Since this will save my family a lot of money it looks like it might pay off to buy video editing software.

I'm not too familiar with this kind of software and I am looking for something that is easy to use. It does not need to have a bunch of special effects options but both sports are fast paced so it needs to be able to load without much lag. Any ideas?

Sony Vegas is reasonably priced and very good. I'd recommend seeing if it has a free trial. You can also just use Windows Movie Maker if you just want some basic things.

Yes. My biggest gripe with it is that you can't have two soundtracks on at a time. So if you wanted to have background music and noise from the game it wouldn't work. You could alternatively mix the sounds together in something like Audacity but that can start to be a pain.

You could also save the video, and then re-edit it. The soundtracks you put over will simply be looked at as Video Sound now, and you can add more to it.
