Is it dumbed down? Yes.
Is it less enjoyable? No.
Maybe I'm somebody who takes more pleasure out of the world itself, out of the way the combat looks and feels and generally doesn't care if my character isn't a matrix style myriad of huge numbers floating in human form pumping out amazingly complex maths formulae just to inflict damage. I do 400% melée damage thanks to enchantments, 100 x 4 = 400. Simple yes? I don't care, I don't understand the obsession with the way it's done if the outcome is the same...
Honestly, the way people moan and [censored] is insane, I didn't see this much hate for Dark Souls... Just because it's been dumbed down doesn't make it less enjoyable, and who cares if destructions weaker? Magic is clearly the more difficult path which is fine unless you want it easy? Melée really THAT powerful you despise it the way you do? Don't use it, seriously. Or maybe turn up the difficulty, or do not use smithing?
Honestly it's like complaining about a pothole in a road and driving your car into it at 500mph. Some people must lead shallow lives to let such a problem cause them so much grief when they can simply pass it in 5 seconds and get over it!?
