I was in an 8V8 like an hour ago and no lag. It might have to do with the playlist you were in,yet to play a laggy game in old school mode.

Seems like I have to go through 2-3 games to find a playable match, but the game itself is by no means unplayable.

I've seen the same thing in my games. The lag comes and goes in bursts. Makes me think it can be fixed client side with some net code tweaks hopefully.

I highly suggest you make your game searches less specific as if you REALLY want to join a not full server, on THIS map, with THIS rule set, etc etc. All instantly - its going to narrow down the selection. By narrowing it down you also open yourself up to the fact that there will be connections that are far away.

The lag should be fixed. The net-code or whatever it is is atrocious, 90percent of the games I join are lag, which makes me laugh when i think of the SMART system.

Especially if it's more than a quarter of people that are experiencing lag more often than not.

The freeplay matches have had atrocious lag but the campaign versus have worked well for me on 360 so far.

Well you can do this, but the problem is we are still running into lag, and rubberbanding.
SD needs to patch host searching system.

I have never experienced lag once in brink. No matter how specific my settings get. This was just my suggestion via logic and IT knowledge. Its a host game you can't expect it to be amazing day 1. I expect them to iron out any bugs as they appear and monitor the situation.

I read the title and was interested in what Richard Ham had to say.

On day 2, the lag seems much better for me. Very few games have been unplayable with lag.

My first freeplay had it but a campaign co-op I played before it had no lag.

The only matches I've been able to play with no lag, are co-op ones. I don't know why, but versus just doesn't like me.

The majority of the time it's the same. This game is really frustrating and annoying. Screw potential. Somebody said if you do 5v5 old school it would play better. I'll try that today but what a horrible horrible abomination of a launch for a game. This is probably the worst launch debacle I've seen on the 360.

I think some of you forgetting you have some people out there hosting the game on their crappy computer, I've come across a couple of those online, I just leave and find another server..

I'm on 360 and trust me the lag is so bad and frustrating you have NO CHOICE but to quit and try again... and it happens AGAIN, and AGAIN and then you rage quit. Then you play solo and run into choke points where the entire defensive bot team continually mows you and your useless bot squad down for 10 minutes until you miss the objective (on EASY). You then RAGE your power button.

I live on the west coast and have 16mb down / 4 mb up on a cable internet connection. I do not use a router. This game is completely unplayable for me. I don't see how they can build an MP game and not playtest it online.

This might be due to me playing on the xbox 360, I've heard the pc version is much better.
