Do I have to choose between Napalm Grenades and Satchel Char

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 4:53 pm

Does anyone know if the Napalm Grenade ability is an upgrade to make the Soldier’s Molotov Cocktail a more powerful pyrotechnic or it it a separate explosive entirely?

The reason I’m asking is because one of my characters is a maxed out Soldier and would not be able to map a separate ability on the PS3’s directional button wheel:

  • Right Direction Button --- Flashbang Grenade
  • Left Direction Button ---- Molotov Cocktail
  • Down Direction Button --- Satchel Charge
  • Up Direction Button ----- Objective Wheel

I’m not complaining. If I have to make a choice I will gladly sacrifice the Satchel Charges and go with an additional specialty grenade because throwing explosives suits my play style much better than planting them. Just seeing if anyone in the community has heard anything definitive so I can start making plans now.

I'm pretty sure it's a separate ability because when i saw the ability description it didnt say anything about being a molotov upgrade.

I don't think that they've released the full info as yet. I think that it's going to trickle out, to keep us hoping and wondering.

On an aside, i don;t think that they would have too many things that would knock people over on the same mapping system. Too easy for defenders, etc, i think.
I'd be happy to switch them in the loadout.

This was the same thought that occurred to me. I actually like the idea of having a third specialty grenade to use while my Flashbangs and Molotovs are in cool down mode.

I agree. Damn those evil geniuses and their cruel silence . . .

I'm really glad Splash Damage added new abilities and increased the cap level to 24. Will definitely make the game even more fun.
