Doom 3DS?

Doom has been on almost every platform out there and I've played it more times than I can remember--but I still get excited at the thought of being able to play it in 3D. So is there any chance of Doom coming to the 3DS any time in the forseeable future?

If id would release Doom 1 & 2, Wolfenstein 3D, and Quake for 3DS I might actually buy one. That's just too awesome a thought to fathom.

If id Software made the DOOM and Wolfenstein series for the 3DS, it'd be best for them to finally make 3d models for the classic cartoony enemies and characters, and I'd LOVE to buy a 3DS just to see that.

But hey, they'd probably port it with same everything, and make a few more bucks, as they have done with Doom for so long now...

but I can still dream...

Ah, DOOM on the 3DS. I suppose iD would make some more pennies.... but if the other games went on it, I think it'd give people a headache. Just looking at the first Wolfenstein on my TV gives me a headache after 15 minutes - it's so bright, and the colours are way too sharp. Can you imagine how must people would feel with this in 3D?! ^_^

But does the game really need to be in 3D? How does it make anything different? Can people still enjoy DOOM without 3D, or is it that age when the next-big-thing HAS to be the best no matter how bad it actually is? Sure, I can understand the game being a tad more scarier, but it's good enough.

Interesting concept though! ^_^

They have been selling, and re-selling the same game for over 15 years. To actually re-do the game in a new engine wouldn't be asking a whole lot. Especially when 3ds games are at the 30+ dollar mark. I own the gameboy advance version of doom. I don't want to be playing the same exact thing on my new 3ds that I was able to almost a decade ago on the gameboy advance, or even 15 years ago on the pc. Updating the graphics is something that can breath new life into these classic games, and will help bring in the new age of gamers that might have missed out the first time.
