Steam has finally updated it's Hardware and Software Survey (previous was May 2010  ) and the numbers are starting to go against a lot of people's claim that 64bit OS and Dx10/11 isn't relevant to the majority of PC gamers.
Sure the top GPU is a Geforce 9800 still, but if you expand that section you'll notice the downward trend for those older cards and increased usage of Dx10/11 capable cards (expecially the GTX 560).
While dual-core processing is still the most prevalent, four-cores will soon become the gaming majority.
These numbers will only increase with the release of 28nm GPU's, Ivy Bridge and is a breath of fresh air for gamers as this will only encourage developers to incorporate a 64bit executable and Dx10/11 support from the start.
Just some food for thought.
If this is in an inappropriate section, i beg mods to please relocate instead of outright delete/close. Thank you.
