So this semester I guess I discovered I have a learning deficiency. When it comes to getting work done I don't have a problem. Comprehending information I don't have a problem. My problem is energy. And when I don't have energy I often drift off and lose my focus. This semester taking Chemistry the teacher moved at a pace I've never been accustomed too. The amount of material we covered and the time we covered it in was just shocking to me. It was one of those classes where literally if you lose focus for a minute you will fall really far behind. It also did not help I had no interest in the subject. It wasn't until our midterm break that I caught myself up reteaching myself all the material from day one. I don't know what it is about Chemistry but I could not focus. Physics and Calculus I never had this problem, but I would often have this aura of tiredness and drift off every five minutes.
One day I started using energy drinks and when I went to class it was a completely different experience. I filled out two pages of notes (usually I had 1/2 page of gibberish) fully organized and made to comprehend easily. I continued using energy drinks for about a week before I started getting really bad headaches and stopped. Back to square one. Today I took my Chemistry final and while I'm confident I did enough to pass the class I know my GPA is going to take a little dent. Even in my other classes I feel low on energy, but because I have an interest I can get by alright. So what can I do to improve my focus and energy? For some reason, as hard as I try I can only sleep seven hours max (internal clock never allows me to exceed this), andI always make sure to have a good breakfast (usually applesauce with cut up apples heated up, OJ, bagel, vitamin supplements).
