Its actually a pretty good game, but the market is that bad. When consoles became popular the quality of games went down and the marketing hype went up. Its gotten so bad you could get more honesty and a better deal from a used car salesman. The end result is that all the best selling games have become sequels. Even games like Duke Nukem that are universally panned by both critics and gamers alike have a better chance of selling then a new franchise just for their nostalgic value.

Yes, new titles are indeed a shame, but hopefully they will one day begin to make a return.

Maybe a quarter way, although you've skipped (or missed) a lot if you're at Dead City after only 2 hours.

It's hard to say. You need to be talking to everyone and more than once too, because sometimes a side quest pops up from someone who had nothing much to say (or who wouldn't talk at all) the first time around.

Check out the Job Board, of course.

Most areas in the game will be visited twice if you're doing everything; some of them need to be visited a third time (the Wasted's to get the Quake room).

The sewers are good for mindless blasting and you get to pick up some valuable junk, as well as a nice reward second time through.

Look out for all the red, purple, etc plants. Some of these are well hidden away and they come in handy for recipes.

Do lots of races and pick up Sally's bounties as much as you can (take the odd trip out into the Wasteland just to blow away bandits, not even as part of a mission, for this) so that you can get vehicle upgrades; these come in very handy as you go through the game.

Search out the jumps and field goals.

All of these are available for doing well before you hit Dead City. Fortunately, you're not yet at a stage where they'll be locked out (not sure if they ever are) so you can come back and pick them up after you've done the City.

RAGE is the most under appreciated GOTY.
Do yourself a favour & buy it - it's a technical/visual masterpiece.

Rage wasn't a bad game....it just wasn't a great game.

A number of people love it...and when you love something you absolutely love it but it makes one blind to its faults and defensive when someone else doesn't love it or worse hate it.

There are a lot of games out there to play offering good base gameplay and killer multiplayer gaming to extend the replaying of those games.

Rage is visually pretty with some rough edges. But games cannot just get by on looks alone. In my opinion, despite what a lot of people believe, Id dropped the ball on limiting online p v p to mario cart. They should have done the old favorites of capture the flag, deathmatch, etc. If they would have done that I truly believe they would have sold more units. They have not sold very well. If they had it wouldn't be on sale for 20 dollars 90 days after hitting th market. If they had sold well ID would have been touting the numbers on their main page. If they had sold well people would be citing several sources showing great sales.

A lot of choices out there...people would rather go do the MW3 or BF3 and get tons of online playing in and feel that they got their moneys worth.

It's difficult though to see how trad id MP would work in some of Rage's maps. Maybe the sewers if they were interconnected a little more, but otherwise I don't see it working.

There is one thing about this game that kinda made me mad. There is no way to replay throught it with all the weapons and crap you had when you beat it. If there is a way please tell me! Also where do you do the sewer missions?

I am enjoying the LotW coop in this game a lot, I've got some 150 hours in the game according to steam. 3 playthroughs sp and a lot of mp and I am up for more. I've played a lot of older TDM games and you know, I like it but I'm kinda over it. More power to you players if that's what you're into but I think Rage is pretty rockin.

The game wasn't bad at all. It was great. It just the amount of lasting content

You can complete the game in a matter of days and it didn't leave the character the option to go back and free roam and carry on building up on mods and stats etc.

Yeah, I think RAGE is designed to be full of different secrets you have to find. If you just rush through the main quest, you can compleate the game very quickly. But, for those who really like to collect things and find secrets, they've done a good job. I personally allways do have to pick up everything I possibly can, not just in RAGE but also in games like Fallout and Skyrim I have to fill my inventory to haul back as much cash as I can

Also, it seems like the game allways makes sure you don't get too much ammo. As a hoarder, it kind of makes me sad when I go on, say, bash TV and end up only having 10 shots left in my shotgun and 50 odd in my AR, even if I do get more than enough money back to replace it. This means I find myself betting on the sheriff game alot to get enough money to be able to afford to stock up on lot's of ammo now, and I may or may not be "cheating" a bit by saving everytime I make a feasable ammount of cash and reloading if I lose it

And it's not just ammo, they give you a tonne of weapon and armour upgrades, which all costs far more than what I've managed to get so far. More gambling for me.

Roland DT summed it up brilliantly.

It's very sad to read that Beefjack included it in the worst 10 games of the year just because of the driving. They liked the shooting
but it wasn't enough.
That is what you get from not having TDM which is addictive and makes the game worth it.
