Is it just me or am i having a TON of fun playing as a light

Playing as a light is a ton of fun! Basically the only reason I still play brink. At first all I played as medium just because its just better. Although if you can kill 3 or 4 guys a run away quickly it is a lot better then medium & Heavy. Lights kick heavys ass its pretty hilarous lol. The parkour element to this game is so epic! what do you think? try it out playing as a light more often. Its a ton of fun!

Jumping from wall-to-wall, bashing a lardo's head open with a pistol, stabbing a medium with bayonet-mounted Kross...

Being only one weight class away from becoming a fatty makes me scared- I'm switching back to a light ASAP!

(which will probably be a while- the BF3 beta releases tomorrow, so I'll be occupied with that until the map gets boring, which could be never!)

dumb question, once you pick a body type, and/or even pursue enhancements to that type, are you stuck with it for a long time (i.e. MAG)?

No. You can switch body types in character customization. But you also have to redo your loadout, as Lights can only use Pistols, SMGs and Sniper Rifles, Mediums can use Pistols, SMGs, Sniper rifles and Assault Rifles, and Heavies can use all of the above PLUS heavy weapons.

I don't say this as a knock against you, but you're exactly the type of Light user I love to murder. Because you think your mobility will save you. I can't even begin to count how many Light users I've torched because they though they were going to slip & slide away from me. I happen to be damn good at hitting moving targets, and I time my fire not while you're sliding, but were you're slide is going to stop. Or better still, why waste the ammo? I'll just underslung nade where your slide ends, then fill you with lead while you wonder what the hell just hit you. Contrary to what TruGamer97 thinks, Light is FAR from the best body type. All you get is faster running speed, a longer slide distance and a wall hop. I'll stop every one with a underslung nade...every...single...time. ESPECIALLY with one of my soldiers with both nade upgrades. And then lets not over look the mismatch of a light versus a heavy wielding a Hjammerdiem (my Heavy weapon of choice). Without a damage buff, I'm stopping you could with 2 shots, and with a buff, OHK every time. I'll take being able to hit a grand slam every time rather then a base hit single.

Yeah, what Oz said.

Catch a light in close quarters with nowhere for them to run and they're [censored]. Pretty damn hard to hit at mid-range, sometimes close range, but they can't stay back and run away forever.

Absolutely no better feeling for me personally then cornering a Light user in a bad spot, especially those guys who think mere speed is going to save there ass. Just tonight, I was playing my Heavy Sol/Engi in a 5 vs 4 match with bots on Aquarium. I was in the 4 person team on Security (as always), and 3 of the 5 players on the other side were Lights. I'd been taken out by a bot and respawned, and two of the little dudes where taking the command post near the elevator. I get there just as they finished (A bot on my team firewalled it, which gave my big ass time to lumber over there from spawn) and one of them tries to slide into me. I drop him point blank with a Hjammer shot...OHK. The other must have needed to reload, because rather then engage, he turned tail and ran...but not far enough since I still had 2 shells in the chamber, and I let them go right into his back. 3 shots, 2 enemies down. If they were Mediums, I would have capped one, and got capped by the other, and if they were Heavies I wouldn't have even though about taking them on alone. And there in lies the glaring difference of the body types. I've walked over mines and absorbed Stick Bomb explosions and still drop my target with a Heavy. Try to do that with a Light and you'll be looking at the respawn timer every time.

I'm not knocking anyone who plays the Light body type. Hell, my primary Op/Sol character is a light, because the body type fits the build, and rarely do I engage the enemy head to head with him. That's the mistake a lot of Light users make, especially post Carb-9 nerf. My gun is bigger then yours, does more damage, had more ammo AND I can absorb more punishment then you (as a Heavy). Yet you're still going to try you rinky dink slide tackle on me face to face? Even if you do manage to knock me down, I'm gonna saw your legs off with whatever weapon I have equipped before you can run away. Same game one of the lil guys knock me down with slide and tries to finish me off on the ground with the Kross. He gets a couple shots into me before I circle around and spot him, then I let off 3 shells from the Hjammer. Done deal. Light have their tactical advantages, yes. But from an purely offensive perspective, I kill more Lights then any other body type because on my Mediums and Heavies I'm bringing the biggest, baddest gun to the fight. And while yes, the 1st rule of Brink is "move more then you shoot", I don't need to move much when you can stop a guy in his tracks dead.

I, myself, perfer being a Heavy, I'm not too good with most FPS and being a Heavy means I'm slightly harder to take down and even if a light does slide into me, normally I'm going to be able to spin my camera around quick enough to aim and fire from the hip at said light.

I'll switch with medium and light from time to time. I just can't go on with slow movement when my class asks me to be at a certain point as quickly as possible...but if I have to pick between the two, I'll pick medium for the sake of having more options when it comes to weapons.
