There are only very few mandatory races, but if you really can not stand a single second of the driving in the game, you should give the co-op missions a try. You don't have to play with a partner though, but you still have to be connected to the internet to play privately.

Driving games are basically all racing games which is something I don't really keen on. Forza, Gotham racing etc all bore me. All I tend to do is fly off every bend.

Most of the driving element of this game is more of a shooting game where you happen to be in a vehicle. There is a think only one race you need for the main quest. the rest is optional for those that also love that aspect. You can also build up vehicle upgrade points through firing a homing missile at a bandit out in the wasteland.

I say I don't usually like racing games but I love the racing on Rage. Its more like GTA as in racing is not the sole purpose of a vehicle.

the races will grow on you; makes traveling around easier the more you upgrade your car. Controls are very tight for the car.

It is not that I do not like racing, I just do not have the eye hand coordination required to win a race or beat the clock. Probably it is the age too. Racing is for young people and most players probably are.

Yes sir, the makers of Rage decided that "RACING" was a great new way to play an FPS...this game fails on so many levels.

The game fails you say? Fails what? And on levels? Did you say that this game failed on a building stability test? Well no wonder, games make terrible buildings.

I think many love the fact it is a mad max style driving game. Driving games usually mean "racing" games. This isn't so much as racing game but a shooting game that also features in a vehicle. It does have races, but that is more intended as a side quest the same way there are card games and gambling games etc. Halo has vehicles in it. That doesn't make it a driving game. This is a game where you are the hero / bounty killer and not a racing driver. One that is not restricted to walking. It also has a airship. Who know there may in future rages you ma get to pilot one.

Skyrim has horse in it. I see fans of TES asking for horse combat which'll make it similar to Rages vehicle combat. Having horse in it doesn't make Skyrim a riding game. Sure rages has centres many areas around the roads of it's outlands. I'm sure if you hated driving that much you could always leave your car at the gate and walk. Just make sure you pack a good missile launcher to take out on coming vehicles.
