Gotlung > ALL! ^.^

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 2:02 pm

Think the title says it all, I hope.

Does anyone see this huge 65% increase in people using this CHEAP ASS GUN? So, If I am hearing this correctly... you wanted to make Heavies more versatile... more of a threat. I get that. But you increase the DMG on there (already) STRONGEST Heavy Gun, that can basically SNIPE people?! WOW!

I haven't been this mad @ this game since the CARB-9. But guess what community? Gotlung > ALL now... so go ahead!

Also, why is a Gotlung more accurate then an Assault Rifle? Decrease the spread or forever lose your community. Cause I'm complaining now and THAT is what you want right SD? Cause apparently PC is going to get a decrease in spread and not consoles, cause we're not whining? Wow.. again.

1. Put the Gotlung BACK to where it was
2. Decrease spread in AT LEAST the AR's. They're SUPPOSED to be the most accurate guns in the game, at least I think so. And they're not and jump horribly STILL.
3. Make the COGA... useful? Having a COGA on an AR is like a Handicap! But IRL almost any AR you see in military use they most likely have an ACOG on it. IMHO it should increase Stability/Accuracy and most important: RANGE

Back on topic: Nerf the Gotlung or I'm honestly done with Freeplay and all these NOOBS who have to use a MINIGUN to kill me! That or switch to Drognav/Barnett and get me at a range because they svck SO BAD they can't get nowhere near me...

/endrant.

They take so long to spin up, but they are beasts. Do you play Light?

After the patch, if you play Light and you see a Heavy, you're better off just running away.

Nah, I play Medium. And I'd say 85% of the time I can 1v1 a Heavy, easillly....

@L00fah - CAUSE man... only a Drognav/Barnett or a Gotlung can kill me. It's official. ONLY way 90% of the population that face me can kill me with...

That or the Hjammer.. but I RARELY get that close to a Heavy.

Everyone's spamming the frikkin' thing though... it's getting quite annoying. They don't use anything (Chinzor, Maximus, ANYTHING) besides it. Only thing they will is the EZ... (annoying as hell gun...!)

Ahh yes, the good ol' Fashioned "Spin to Win" methology, Aim down the sights to start it spinning then walk round the corner like you're the Terminator!

I had a bit of fun with it but with the lack of movement, you are pretty much a mobile turret that can randomly get jumped by savvy players. I'm more comfortable with pretty much any other gun quite frankly.

I didn't think the gun was that annoying. It's a friggin' Gatling-Gun, man... People are going to play it based purely off looks, for one...
Though it's spread definitely needs to be increased... It's too accurate at range considering it's extremely high rate of fire and sheer rate of fire. Even if he misses a majority of the time, he only needs to hit you a few times.

Especially me... I play light.
But my mobility is usually what saves me. I usually do NOT stop moving unless I'm completing an objective or trying to defend a small spot (even then I'm running around the small room with my LB held down!) :P
I think what really needs buffing now though is the Medium's mobility... I'm ok with him not being as skillful as the light (he IS heavier), but he is WAAAAAAAY too slow by comparison.
The medium's sprint is less than the light's non-sprint movement. They need to increase the medium's speed just a bit.

I literally cannot play my medium anymore due to his terrible crawling (he moves more like how a heavy should).

Also, in that game we were playing, I noticed a few heavies sprinting as fast as lights. I switched to light before the match and couldn't catch up to one of the heavies at all. It made ZERO sense.

Here's another thing about the Gotlung that confuses me- why it does shoot 3 bullets per trigger/mouse press, when it only has 4 barrels? I could see it with maybe 6 barrels, but 4?

I want someone to find me a picture of any minigun IRL that has LESS than 5 barrels, from "Puff, the Magic Dragon" used in Vietnam to the M134 that's used today, just to prove a point.

The point in question being 'How can a gun fire 3 rounds from 4 barrels and not have every barrel turn back to molten steel within 10 seconds?'.

Sound [censored] is a good thing :)

It's so easy to hear where they are, you have 2 options. Wait until he un-spools the mini gun or flank him with a nade shot/Noob Tube.

Mini-gun is supposed to strike fear in the other team, a sure fire death when spooled, yet harmless when not...

Also, I've noticed that lights fair better against heavies than mediums. Mediums do have a slight advantage against lights tho....

This is clearly before your stated era, but I thought it a worthy reply none the less

See a heavy, Pop around the corner and stick him with a Sticky, Shoot him in the back as he lumbers to go get help.

Either that or wait til he's done spamming and has to reload and wait to spin back up.

Just another nuance of Brink that makes it fun.

I barely see any heavy guys online. But I think it's kinda fun when they are pretty powerfull. You get that 'spotting a tank right in front of you.. ruuuuun' feeling from Battlefield :D Nonetheless they go down pretty easy and I usually throw a molotov right on there as and finish them off.

Maybe it's different on PS3... cause my Gotlung sure as hell can't snipe, and any kills beyond close range are entirely down to pure luck.

i love the soldiers grenades you hit someone with a Molotov or buffed grenade and there down... then all you have to do is clean them up

I've been in the same predicament (i don't even know if i spelled that right so feel free to correct it xP) many times before. Plus, since the AoC DLC, I've been seeing at least twice as many heavies that run around toting Gotlungs. Seeing one is annoying enough, but then getting into a game where I see 4 with Gotlungs firing at me at the same time, I just leave the game right then and there :|

I just started using the Gotlung after the AoC patch (on 360) and I think that the gun is fair. The movement penalty along with the long reload and spool time compensate for the rate of fire / dmg. If you are attempting to charge at heavies wielding it head on, then you deserve to die. If you throw a cooked nade or a molly at them then they completely lose the ability to hit anything. Your best bet would be to flank them. Just dont expect to take them head on at a choke point.
